I assume all of y'all are ready for the team to kick off as much as I am. Personally, I can't believe I am as optimistic about this season as I am compared to how low I was on the team after the bowl game. I figured it would be a good time to start throwing out predictions for this season to kill the time prior to the game in Utah.

@ Utah - L - I think we have some stuff to work out against a tough opponent who will be fired up against us. I also think the elevation could effect us late in the game just like I think the humidity wore them down last season.

McNeese - W. Hopefully we can dominate from the start.

Tennessee - W. We will be the first big opponent for them and they traditionally don't do well in Gainesville.

Charlotte - W. Another game I hope we can dominate, minimize mistakes and maybe get to see some young guys in the 2nd half.

@ Kentucky - W. We will be the first team of any substance that they play next year. I think this will be a strength v. strength matchup, and I like our potential and depth along the line of scrimmage. I think we will avoid the big mistakes which will allow us a close win.

Vandy - W. I think we will come out fired up after last year and show out in front of the home crowd.

@ South Carolina - L. I think this will be the reverse of last year where we stomped them at home. I think they will be fired up. We could also be looking ahead to UGA if we have the kind of record I am predicting.

UGA - L. I am optimistic, but I can't get myself that optimistic at this point.

Arkansas - W. If this was away, I would give us the loss. It will probably be a close game, but I don't see us losing 3 straight.

@ LSU - W. I don't know why, might just be the hopium. Just a gut feeling.

@ Mizzou - L. Another loss we probably shouldn't have, but I hate playing them late in the year away when it will probably be cold. Would also expect a let down if we win against LSU.

FSU - W. I just don't think they are as good as their fans and the media thinks they are. I don't think they have depth, and injuries could give us the edge.

Overall 8-4. Tons of momentum going into a very difficult 2024 schedule. I think the defense shows a ton of improvement, especially on 3rd downs. I think coaching improves in the "Middle 8", which keeps us from losing some games we should win. I also think having an "all-in" culture will see us improve as the season goes on instead of disappointing us like last year.

I don't want to ever lose a game in football but I think it will be another tough year especially with Mertz.
I see him being the same mistake ridden QB with a much Worse O-line then what he had at Wisky.

Honestly 6 & 6 and that is a very optimistic prediction

By mid-season Miller will be starting.
I do think the defense plays better this year then last that is the only reason I'm saying 6 & 6

Utah beats us 37 - 17 in what will be a Thursday night Nightmare.
Then the team improves throughout the season

Yee of little faith.

The Gators won 6 games with Anthony Richardson handing the ball to the other team multiple times a game. If anything, Mertz won't do that. If Miller is a better QB why isn't he starting after 2 years in the program?

I just dont think we lose to Utah, I think our DL will be too much for a new QB making his first start or the vet out there on 1 leg.

No more 4.8 safeties covering their TE.

I think we win by dbl digits.

@ Utah - L - I think home field will win the game for Utah even if Rising is limited. I think they eventually get their running game going enough in the 2nd half to pull out a win. That new starting RB they have is a load and if he gets past the front 7 he is pretty good at running over safeties.

McNeese - W

Tennessee - L I lean to a loss here as Tennessee has the better QB and a high powered offense though this is one of 2 games I think we can pull a decent upset possibly with the other being FSU.

Charlotte - W

@ Kentucky - L I lean to a close loss here on the road as they have the better QB and one I think if we had gotten we would be an 8-4 team.

Vandy - W Not sure who has the better QB here but we have way more talent overall and should win the game.

@ South Carolina - W Hard pick here as I think they have the better QB and enough talent to win at home but have a feeling we pull this game out.

UGA - L No real comment needed unless we have an upset for the ages. Might be better off just running jumbo package the whole game and hoping they wear down like Muschamp did that one year.

Arkansas - W They have the better QB but we have more talent overall and I think home field saves the day.

@ LSU - L Like GA I don't see hardly any chance for an upset in this game on the road.

@ Mizzou - W About even at QB probably but I think we have enough to beat Mizzu on the road.

FSU - L I think their experience and portal help along with having the better QB makes them the clear favorite but like Tennessee I think we have a decent chance for an upset here at home.

6-6 with a chance for 7-5. I think the Utah game will dictate whether we go 6-6 or 7-5. I don't see 7-5 if we lose @ Utah.

Seems like a few people let their Swamp 247 subscriptions run out and have started posting over here.

I don't think Joe Milton is that good.

If anything, he's a wash with Mertz.

If we beat Utah like I expect, and mop the floor with McNeese, I don't see Tenny coming to the Swamp and winning. The Swamp should be 1990s crazy.
