Off-season workouts begin today

Today Florida began its offseason workout program. The team reported today around 3 p.m. for an hour and a half workout.

As we reported on the We Chomp Chat Wednesday two weeks ago the day after the first team meeting of the spring, players were broken down into groups so that the new strength and conditioning staff could evaluate each player's baseline athletic ability.

They put them to the test today with the players beging broken down into four groups, mostly by position, but not totally, and were put through four stations set up on the field in the Swamp. They went through each station twice, with the second time around there being a different variation of the drill.

It was agility drills today.

This is a different start to the offseason. I was told that at this time last year they were doing lifting and dynamic running. This year they are starting off working on mobility and flexibility.

Of the newcomers I was told transfer quarterback Jack Miller looked really athletic, as did safety signee Kamari Wilson.

Judging by when they are shutting off the Swamp to the public, it looks like they will be working out in there Tuesday and Wednesday of this week,

Monday and Tuesday next week.

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday the following week.

Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the week after that.
