Still not a fan! Honor the veterans, no problem with that, but these gimmick alternative uniforms are for one reason, to increase sales.
Why does Napier have an obsession with wearing black?
All blue looks twice as good or all orange.
You know, the school colors.
Heck we already have a basketball player on our football uniforms?
And those helmets look like shite.

I saw the black jerseys the Gators will supposedly wear against Arkansas, I am scared to see what the helmets, pants will look like.

Maybe a USFL or an XFL team will buy them after the game. They would fit.

Arkansas might join in and wear purple, maybe they don't care either about school colors or tradition.

Orange and Blue, not orange and black.

And as far as honoring the veterans? put a flag on the chest or a MIA sticker on the sleeve of the blue home jersey.

I have no problem wearing the black jersey one time a year in November put some sort of military pack on each jersey representing a different branch and then auction off the jerseys for the proceeds to go to veterans memorial or something like that.
I think that is the right thing too do and the players want to wear them so win/win they may actually look good on the field!!! We will see!!

I would too, if we were Vandy, Missouri, Colorado, Wake Forest. Get the connection?

I case you didn't, they all have black in their team colors.

Orange, orange, orange------Blue, blue, blue.

Fight, fight Florida U.

Typical Nike crap. They can't even put strips all the way around the sleeves anymore.

I have a polo of that jersey with an orange collar. I break it out every once in a while, for laughs.

I'm torn. I love the traditional uniforms and we have enough combinations to keep it fresh. But I also get that the young guns love uniform options.

I'm not against tying black into a uniform, but it needs to be done right. Don't do it just to do it. The black baseball and basketball uniforms look great, but those are a little easier to work with.

I think if anything, it needs to be the jersey only. Leave the helmet and the pants alone. I don't mind when we do the white helmets (as long as it's uniform with the orange - no metallic or tapered decals/stripes), but the blue helmets are awful.

Brand recognition is everything. When it comes to uniforms, my personal opinion is that less is more. The last thing I want to see is us taking the field in something that looks like my kindergartener designed it (gator themed uniforms we wore against aTm in 2017).

Even the hideous jerseys in the picture above would have looked ok with orange pants and helmet. The white helmets are traditional. Like you stated branding is important, as is tradition. That is why teams like Bama don't screw with their brand.

I don't know. I actually like that we are changing it up some. Everyone knows orange and blue goes with Florida so doing something different for one game is good.

I agree, change it up. Wear all blue, all orange, all white, orange with white pants, blue with white pants, white pants with white jerseys, white jerseys with blue pants, white jerseys with orange pants. And blow everyone away with the occasional blue or white helmet. Any you can throw in white, orange or blue cleats.

Orange, orange, orange, blue, blue, blue.

Black????????????

You keep saying orange orange orange --- blue blue blue like that somehow makes any difference.

Are you okay with wearing all white uniforms every other road game?

No one ever complains about the all white uniforms we've been wearing for years...

Orange and Blue are the colors, white and black are just contrasts.

It more about tradition than the actual color. How often does Alabama, Penn State, Michigan wear alternate uniforms.
The University of Florida is a brand. Does Ford motor company change their logo? When the Gators take the field, anyone looking at the screen should know it's the Gators, not question, who is this team in the black uniforms?

You have to wear white on the road, it's kind of a rule.
