I don't think you'll have to. Separated shoulder, and Spurrier said he was likely done for the year. He'll get a chance to heal up, and then fade off into our collective memory a la Beecher or McEvoy.

Pretty sure he took his last meaningful snap, with Orth, Nunez already in the fold & McIlwain coming in next year.

Steve Spurrier's Sunday teleconference: Connor Mitch separated his shoulder. "Definitely out 4-6 weeks."

Mitch is done ... stick a fork in him. I was right, he has the tools ... but I was wrong, he doesn't have it between the ears.

Mitch was deer in the headlights from the first snap yesterday. Also, for the first time it hit me yesterday ... he's fragile. He doesn't have the body or the build. After two years in the system it is obvious he has not worked hard in the weight room. I had heard the rumors but yesterday it became apparent.

It's the Orth/Nunez show from here on out.

I wish Mitch well but he does not have a D1 mindset. Probably was made apparent by how he handled the girlfriend issues but I overlooked the obvious.

I haven't heard about girlfriend issues but I heard a lot of other shite that is probably more damning than any girl issues that doesn't involve domestic violence.

I tried to tell y'all.

I wonder if he'll play when he gets healthy in 6 weeks.

How did Mitch even win the starting job? Orth comes in firing and looks much better than Mitch ever has thus far in the season.

I would bet a lot of money he has taken his last snap as a Gamecock

I would think so. But why has spurrier stuck with him as the starter? Spurrier recruited him hard and I wonder if he made some promises.

Who knows. Spurrier lost his short leash after yanking Garcia in the 2010 Auburn game. Let Garcia play way too long in 2011 and it cost us the Auburn game (cosmic humor I guess)

Now he stuck with Connor Mitch too long and it cost us the Kentucky game. Maybe Mitch looks better in practice but he looked so scared and tentative out there that Orth deserved snaps earlier. Especially after how calm and collected he looked against UNC

Orth plays like he has nothing to lose, and he's worked his way from nothing into a competent college quarterback. It's hard not to root for the guy.

Mitch is obviously talented, but he's lacking a competitive instinct that the other Connor had in spades.
