I've been trying to fill a void that a shitty sports year has left gaping.

Started keeping up with the English Premier League. But now that's over.

Really wish the World Cup or European Cup was this summer.

So bizarre not having to worry about a baseball postseason. Gamecocks have been good or great eve since I've been a fan... I was 9 the last time we didn't make the tournament

Yep I was 8 the last time we didn't make the post season and didn't keep up with the team. The 2002 team is the first one I remember keeping up with

Trying to have a real life. Rarely post or read here. Let my memberships to TBS and GCC lapse. Still renewed my season tix, but trying to get used to that 90's perspective and lifestyle again.

Work in the yard. Socialize in the real world. Work a good bit. Won't worry about the season until it starts.
Gwine back to the old Carolina mentality.

I've been drinking and playing video games. Hanging out with the lady friend helps a lot too

Now I'm focused on moving.

work

chasing my little boy around and trying to straighten the preteen daughter out.

Dealing with the mass influx of taters that have cropped back out of hibernation since we had a crappy sports year.

Yep, that was when I became a fan of SC sports in general.. after the 2002 CWS.. Mom is from SC and a Clemson fan. Dad grew up in Cali and loves UCLA. I decided to blaze my own path, went to SC for undergrad. Still consider myself a fan of UCLA too though.

This is a busier time of year for me work wise, which is good I guess, b/c there's not football to be distracted by. Up until last year, I had watched the Super's or CWS in Hilton Head for the previous 5 years, that won't happen this year though.

I sponsored and am coaching a couple youth baseball teams (just rec league.) That's been a lot of fun.

I played the 3rd best rd of golf in my life, and then immediately followed up the next weekend with arguably the worst round I've played in over 5 years.

I used to live in DC, I liked it, except for the traffic, it could take about 2 hours to drive 25 miles at certain points in the day. There's a lot of work opportunities in DC, especially in finance, consulting/contracting and really anything related to gov't services/DOD.

I lived there for 5 years, let me know if you need any recommendations.

Just a couple off the bat. Ben's Chili Bowl is an landmark establishment in that city, food's good and the locals swear by it. There's a lot of nightlife, but it's all about zones in the city. The bars/clubs closer to Cap Hill are your power players and lobbyists. If you're looking for college tail, you need to head over to some of the bars closer to GW's campus. If you're looking to bag a cougar pissed at her cheating Ex, head over to Foggy Bottom or G'town. You're best bet for fast arse is just to suit up and head to the Mayflower or one of the nicer hotels' downtown bars and get a hooker. Secret of the trade though is to find out about upcoming conventions/conferences. Anytime you see or hear about a pharmaceutical sales rep conference or a realtor conference...GO, even if it's just to the bar of the main conference hotel.

Well, don't worry, we going 15-0 this year and goin' to da 'ship! I am never going back to the way it was in the 90's, even if I have to maintain delusions of grandeur about our program in my own head.

I haven't been this disappointed during the post-season since losing to La-Lafayette in the SRs in 2000. Ok, last season came pretty close.
