Not a hint ... but I'm sure we're gonna find out in short order. The news will be breaking everywhere by gametime if not sooner.

Rumors are flying. Big money vandalism ... used a BB gun. Who knows what is accurate at this point but it doesn't sound good from any angle.

What a bunch of damn dumbasses. WTF could they have been thinking?

Wow, if we kick them all off, we'll be screwed next year. 3 Sr's already leaving and 5 knuckleheads working their way out. We could lose 8 players...damn, that would be vicious.

Ouch. I really wasn't worried about attrition outside of Carrera, but losing these guys (and if true, they ought to be dismissed) makes being competitive in-conference nearly impossible, outside of a ton of incoming transfers.

Martin has to be thinking he's stuck in the Twilight Zone.

As of today I am hearing that this is definitely not going to end well for at least two, perhaps three of them. And the other two, maybe three (depending), are contingent upon having to testify against the other two, or three ... which is a problem.

All depends on who was "just along for the ride."

Any way we cut it though, as of right now, it's really a bad situation. I hope Martin is just putting the fear of God in them but until the legal system plays-out, who knows.

I think Silva, Stroman and Blanton will be ok in the end. They might miss some games, but I don't think they'll be dismissed. I don't know what's going to happen to the other 2 guys.

Yeah, when I posted that late last night, after midnight actually, after finding out the warrants had actually been served and they had been arrested ... I wasn't sure if Blanton was going to be the 3rd or not and no one else I talked to seem to know either.

Silva and Stroman were in the wrong place at the wrong time riding with the wrong two knuckleheads ... but they're still gonna have to pay a price as well. But Silva and Stroman were both trying to get Gregory and Cobb to not do what they did from what I was told ... they didn't know what had happened until the BB gun was pulled out and the first couple stupid childish shots were fired ... and they are all claiming they never thought of it as practicing drive by shootings.

But anyways, when I posted that above, late last night before it hit the news outlets this morning ... I was pretty worried, based on what I had managed to find out over the course of yesterday ... that they were going to try to force Silva and Stroman to testify against the other two, and that would have caused some cultural problems, but I found out this morning that they didn't have to and will not have to because Gregory and Cobb both confessed to Coach Martin and who knows, that may save their bacon as well, although I kinda doubt it.

11 a.m. update
According to the Richland Co. Detention Center website, both have been released from Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

A judge released the two on PR bonds for the amount of the fines – $2130 per charge, according to The State.

What I am hoping to find out today is whether or not they are both first time offenders ... I suspect, based upon the fact that the judge agreed to release them for the amount of the fines, that is going to be the case.

Any chance they stay on the team? Whether we want them to or not?

I was told, as far as Cobb and Gregory are concerned, that the school is waiting for the process to play out in court before they make that decision but that the decision is going to be Martin's to make once all is said and done.

Gotta hand it to Ray Tanner. Unlike Eric Hyman, he is involved but, at least so far, telling Martin that it is his decision to make once everything plays-out in court.

Blanton, Stroman and Silva will return after they pay the price ... community service and suspensions.

In Cobb's and Gregory's favor they did cooperate ... and restitution is going to have to be paid to the tune of somewhere between $12k-$18k depending upon the value of two windows in particular plus replacing the windshields and repairing some car doors.

I was told that Martin's stance right now is that neither are likely to return ... but that's fluid and depends a lot upon what some of the victims have to say about it plus input from the families.

Just clarifying what you heard, rooster, but it was two separate events. Correct? One where some parked cars were shot up, and the other and more serious of the two was when they fired on another driver after he pulled out in front of them. Have you heard both of those?

Also, I heard that both Cobb and Gregory have cleaned out their lockers and turned all of their USC stuff back in. Take that Fwiw on whether they have a chance to return.

I think it is going to be more like five or six incidents, and they are waiting for more to come in. They drove around doing some crap ... the authorities are of the belief that more vandalism is yet to be reported. So far it's just the ones they know about but, according to something that at least one of them admitted to witnessing, there is going to be more.

Wow. I was wondering how the assault and battery charge came about, and then when I heard they pulled up beside the guy who cut them off and shot up the side of his car riding down the road, it all made sense.
