Any word on Jamyest? He's said we've thrown a wrench in things for him. Just curious if you guys have heard anything.

Most of our guys think uga is much more of a threat than the have been but that is still very likely he comes to cola.

Yeah I think if we got a flip it would be him. The being the first to offer card seems to be paying a big role. Either way the guy's undervalued imo, one of us is getting a good one.

Also his recruitment is a testament to muschamp and TRob. Not so much that they got him, but that they got him because Jalen tabor while still playing at Florida put in a good word for them with Williams. Sideline behavior aside, to have a guy go to bat for you like that Says a lot.

I would trade Devonte for Jamyest anyday if we can get him to flip

Lol as would I, taking jamyest I mean. Wyatt is better than his rating but jamyest plays with that chip on his shoulder like tyrann Mathieu. Our defense needs that. All do really.

I'm far more worried about Wyatt flipping than I am confident of a Williams flipping. Honestly, I think Eilliams is just building some excitement heading into NSD, but Wyatt sounds genuinely torn.

I am a little worried about Williams at this point. Our coaches are, too. I know that his dad or stepdad one has been in his ear about staying home and going to UGA, so that may be causing him to change his mind a little bit. I know TRob will be relentless until the ink has dried, but we have reason to worry.

What's the deal on this guy? One of my friends said he didn't start playing football until 10th grade.

That's what I'm reading, but this kid seems to be one of those undiscovered gems. He started pretty late in his time at high school - only had one year as a starter, yet was good enough that lone year to earn 6A All-State honors. But he's currently not rated by 24/7.

(oops - I see he's not rated on the composite, but is rated an 84-grade 3* by 24/7 themselves)

He's got offers from Missouri, Miss State, and Cincinnati. He's got planned OVs to Miss St. next wkend, and to Mizzou the wkend after that.

USC offered him recently, and new OLC Wolford evaluated him. So I imagine he'll be red-shirted as he has to be raw on the techniques, but he's part of the class now. Welcome to South Carolina, Jordan!

My UGA friends are all calling for Williams to flip. Said he is one of two silent commits they have due to spots filling up. Anyone have any insight on it? I called BS thinking they were trying to stir me up, but there are a lot of rumors going around.

A lot of rumors, but I'm not sure how much fire there is to the smoke. He was in Athens this previous weekend, some say he was just visiting family and others say he was on campus hanging out with the guys on officials. He will be in Athens for his OV this coming weekend; we'll find out a lot after that visit, in my opinion. If he makes the trip to Columbia then he stays a Gamecock. If he cancels, then obviously think he ends up a Dawg.

I don't think we'll flip him in the end. Even if he is leaning that way after his visit to Athens, I think Muschamp will lock him down when he gets to Columbia. The last visit is important with kids who are wavering.

From what I have seen and heard with mine own eyes and from some really really good sources ... I'll be absolutely shocked if that happens.

So will some coaches.

If anything, from what I have seen and heard, he is helping us to recruit - and this is very very recent observations and information. As recent as this weekend.

I appreciate the info crispy and rooster. I know they are 17/18 year old kids, but a flip would sting. For this year's class and from a momentum standpoint going forward. I sort of equated him to when Stephon Gilmore committed and how that set off some momentum that carried forward thru the next few classes.

Since there has been little to report on this board I figured that I would throw out these couple of things.

Clemson's DT/ADC retired after the NC. This has helped us with 2018 4* DT Josh Belk.

Their DE coach is supposedly taking a job with the Jaguars and that move would subsequently help us with 5* DE Xavier Thomas.

Obviously both of these positions will be filled by Clemmy but the bonus points that got for the relationships built thus far will be wiped out.

I read about that yesterday, and subsequently saw some RT's of things that Thomas asked about Hobby. I know he was probably trolling a little, but he seemed shocked by the news.

Something that may lift my fellow Gamecock fan's spirits. JC Shurburtt over at 247 is pretty well respected in the recruiting community. He had a post today regarding Jordan Carty, yet another OT recruit. He is visiting the final weekend before NSD and has been under recruited mainly due to academics. It has come to light that Carty could potentially qualify, thus the thread about him was made.

JC said that if Carty qualifies and commits that he, JC, can't see how this years OT class could have turned out any better. By that he means that the ceiling on both Jordans Rhodes and Carty are incredibly high and that the OTs in the class who could perform better than them down the line were unlikely to have come to us anyway. This plus the # of OL offers being pumped out in the last couple of weeks really has me jacked about the Wolford hire. I'm really intrigued to hear what 5 names will trot out there vs NCST.
