This was an interesting idea, find out who's voting for the flag to be removed or not by mashing here

***Spoiler Alert***
most who have voted have voted to remove.

Thats pretty cool, but the flag probably won't last the rest of the week and definitely will be down by July 4th.

Such a shame too. Instead of having legitimate conversations about how to prevent a crime like this from happening (such as monitoring the types of websites he visited/posted on and if that violates the constitution) the left wing, mass media and Social Justice Warroirs/ PC Police drag us into yet another pointless debate that serves only to divide us and actually gives that little frick exactly what he wanted.

Once the Charleston community and all of SC came together instead of going full on Ferguson or Baltimore they needed something to direct their attention to.

Oh well

Me thinks ppl are voting to have that flag removed mostly because it was never actually the battle flag for the south in the war and mainly because it was the flag that was adopted by the kkk after the south lost

1. It was the battle flag used by Robert E. Lee's northern Virginia army

2. It was used to honor the confederate soldiers before the KKK and politicians against desegregation adopted it. Its been a part of MS's state flag since the 1870s or 1880s

It wasn't the battle flag. Confederate states had three different flags the one that was on top of the state house wasn't one of them.

I'll be glad when it's gone. Those that want it to stay will have forgotten all about this "issue" a month from now.

Just put it in a fricking museum and be done with it.

No. It was the battle flag. Specifically that of Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia

There were three different national flags of the confederacy. On of them is the Stars and Bars, which most people incorrectly use to refer to the battle flag

FIFY

Most people don't give a shite and the ones that do will either move on to another issues to push down our throats or will still be pissed that the flag came down

One thing is absolutely undeniable. South Carolinians handled and responded to this issue 1000 times better than Ferguson and Baltimore residents and out of state troublemakers. The degree of civility was drastic in our situation vs their's. The people who you might think who would be the most upset by these horrific murders didn't burn cars, assault police/or each other and loot stores.

This situation could have been WAY worse from a social unrest perspective.

SC even had a white police officer murder and try to cover up a black man's death, and still the SC leadership in that community kept the people in control and from acting like thugs.

The result, that murdering cop is going to jail for a long time and the confederate battle flag of northern virginia is being removed from the state house grounds. I'm not going to get into pro/anti flag, but the way that South Carolinians responded to these situations was dignified and civilized.

Which makes the whole situation all the more interesting. You can't have it both ways. Either SC is full of ignorant, racist rednecks, or it's a template of what the rest of the country should aspire to in handling race relations.

exactly. Baltimore's mayor would have given her left tit to have the civil/dignified reaction that SC residents had about these two issues.

No she wouldn't. She got exactly what she wanted.

I disagree. Her decision to have police 'stand down' cost the mayor her political career. Politicians are primarily concerned with being re-elected and she won't be. FoxNews pointed out her error, CNN pointed out her error, every news source out there pointed it out, the police don't respect her and the community lost respect for her poor handling of the situation. If she could hop in a DeLorean and find a stretch of I-95 to get that boy up to 88 miles an hour, I bet she would go back and have done things differently. It was a critical mistake for her political career.
