This past Monday, I got to go down to Columbia and tour the stadium and have lunch with Coach Holbrook, Coach Esposito, and Coach Meyers, because my company sponsors a few games each year. I was impressed to see several of the guys out there working out, long tossing in the outfield, running sprints, etc on their own time. How do y'all think we do this year?

This guy! Given the state of our basketball team, I'm so ready for baseball season.

I haven't looked anything up about this coming season yet, but I don't think we miss a beat from changing over to Coach Holbrook.

I think we will be right there til the end like the past 3 years.

Just looked at the schedule and saw our Clemson series:

Fri Mar 1 at Clemson Clemson, S.C. 6:30 p.m.
Sat Mar 2 vs. Clemson Greenville, S.C. TBA
Sun Mar 3 at Clemson Columbia, S.C.

Weird that they are going to make us away at our field, but I guess it's not that out of the norm.

Definitely going to try and make the games in Greenville and Columbia.

I'm always ready for baseball. It's been that way with me since even before Bobby Richardson.

I would love to see us make it back to Omaha again this year, and with the experience our young guys like Pankake, Montgomery, English, and so forth got last year, I don't see why we shouldnt.

I think it should be another great season. I've seen them play in Omaha each of the lasts three years and they are loaded with young talent. We will be heading down to Columbia from Iowa for our daughters graduation this spring and I'm hoping that there will be a home series going on at that time so I can see them in action.

I too believe we could be very good once again this year. Pitching may be the strongest it's been in a long time, since the early 2000s. Defense should be outstanding. My worry is offense, at the plate. We've got some bats to replace and that does concern me a bit because, top to bottom, the SEC is going to be very very strong on the mound this season.

Of course, we should really be able to run the bases so perhaps we'll be even more of a small ball team again this year, than last.

Our bats went completely silent in the national title last year... and they were never good before that. I hope all of those freshmen (now sophs) will step it up and give us some pop.

Word from the coaches is that Jack Wynkoop has a chance to be really good. Said he could be an immediate impact guy.
