Hopefully the committee will take our injuries into consideration like they do in basketball

Even with all the injuries right now, I fully expected a sweep on your part. Was shocked as hell yesterday afternoon when I checked the weekend scores and saw UGA won the series. Our pitching sucks this year and our bats aren't much better.

JW w/ some injury news on DC & Schrock:

quote:

Sophomore DC Arendas has been medically cleared and will play on Wednesday night against Wofford at 7 p.m. at Carolina Stadium.

quote:

The news is just as good with sophomore Max Schrock, who took batting practice over the weekend and improved each day. On Monday, he went through a full practice and we were told looked great and felt great afterward. He is also likely to be in the lineup on Wednesday

Saw another incredible stat by our relievers today:

quote:

@GamecockRadio
Crazy stat: The last time a #Gamecock reliever had an ERA below 1.00 with 25+ IP was Jeff Twitty in 1979. The #Gamecocks currently have 5.

quote:

?@GamecockRadio
Those 5:
Reagan: 25.0 IP, 0.36 ERA
Mincey: 33.1 IP, 0.54 ERA
Seddon: 33.1 IP, 0.54 ERA
Scott: 32.2 IP, 0.83 ERA
Widener: 31.0 IP, 0.87 ERA.

Now if we could just get better hitting. If we don't I don't see us getting past the Supers (assuming they'll be the on road as of right now)

Indiana just lost at home to unranked Minnesota tonight. how that team has as high of rpi (#5) as they do is puzzling at best.

Gamecocks just took down #7 rpi Vandy in Nashville. oddly all 7 road teams won Thursday night in SEC play.

the committee needs to use common sense over rpi when it comes to Indiana vs the top 6 SEC clubs regarding a top 8 seed.

Huge series win on the road, puts us right back in the national seed hunt.

The only reason I disagree is because I'm just assuming we will take our traditional 0-2 / 1-2 route in the SEC tourny.

Would love to have a national seed, but we'd have to do well in Hoover and I don't think we take it seriously considering we hardly ever win a game.

Also kinda hoping Clemson has to come to our regional again

Time to breath some life back into this thread!!

SC hosting a regional paired with #3 National Seed Virginia.

Columbia Regional:
1 SC.......................(42-16, 14 RPI)
2 Maryland.............(36-21, 25 RPI)....Lost to Ga. Tech in ACC Tournament Championship game
3 Old Dominion.....(36-24, 35 RPI)
4 Campbell............(40-19, 64 RPI)....Big South Tournament winner

Road to Omaha!

So, what's it looking like? How tough is our regional?

Without counting our chickens before they hatch I'm rooting for Arkansas to somehow win in Virginia so (again, assuming we take care of our business) we can host the Supers.

I'm personally rooting for Liberty to win that regional. Would be hilarious on multiple levels.

I think we have decent field in our regional, should definitely be fun. But I like our chances of advancing out of Columbia. I also have a sneaking suspicion that Florida won't survive their bracket (I think it will end up being the most competitive).

I would say it'll be a tough road if we have to face UVA. Im hoping for Arky or Liberty to win it so we can stay home in the Supers.

Our regional is mid of the pack in difficulty imo. We'll probably sweep.
