-- It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise since he was cleared to practice on Monday but guard Marcus Stroman, who missed the game against Missouri on Saturday with concussion-like symptoms, made the trip to Ole Miss for Tuesday night’s game against the Rebels. Stroman has been practicing and, from what I was told, has performed well.

Looks like Stroman's going to be back tonight. Ole Miss also has 2 guys out tonight in Saiz & Newby, 2 of their big men. Huge for us.

shot selection will be huge tonight for Carolina. late clock situations will hopefully see more drives to the basket to draw fouls than poor forced 3-point attempts, which have killed both Carrera & Notice's averages in league play.

What a win. Carerra was a beast... So tough. Glad to steal that one.

indeed. great to see Gregory on the court at winning time after no minutes vs missouri.

edit - 49-37 Carolina on the boards. OM hit 7 threes in 1H to USC's 1. each team had 3 in 2H.

Gamecocks have to get serious about this FT problem too. it didn't matter in Tuscaloosa, but it almost cost them tonight. this team isn't talented enough to miss 10 a game home or away and always win.

That last rebound and 'And1' was HUGE. When he is on he is ON. Great win for the team on the road.

One thing that scares me is that teams are going to start playing more zone against us after seeing how we are struggling from the outside. Bama did it some, and so did the Rebels tonight. We have to shoot better from outside.

Also, agree completely on FT's. Chat and Carerra shot them well, but I'm not sure what Sin's problem was tonight. His last two road games have been terrible for him to be such a good player.

Gamecocks trailed 66-57 coming out of the last media timeout and Jamall Gregory threw down a forceful dunk that sparked USC. you could see a different intensity from the rest of the team, especially Carrera, after that basket. we haven't had a comeback win in quite some time that compares to this one.

Hmm. I quit watching, we win. I watch the Bama game, we lose. I don't watch the Missouri game, we win.

that's it, I can't watch anymore.

ESPN is already pushing the Connecticut game.

Would be great to take down Geno in general but an SEC team doing it would be…

Lady's game Thursday night, at Auburn, is only on the SECNet+ ... on the Internet. At least according to GamecocksOnline.

UConn is sitting 2nd-leading scorer Morgan Tuck for "at least" 2 weeks: they'll start Gabby Williams in her place. I'm sure Tuck will be back for our game regardless if she's fully healed, though. The AAC conference is one thing: their next 5-6 AAC opponents have a combined losing record, so they should sweep those easily even if they sat 2-3 starters. But the road game versus South Carolina is another thing entirely...

LOL, that's because the Auburn game is actually scheduled for tomorrow night, silly....

But we'll have 3 games to watch over the next 5 days: WBB @ Auburn tomorrow, MBB @ Tennessee Saturday, then WBB again @ Mississippi State on Sunday...

Gotta scout ahead.

From what I've seen out of them they're really small, live and die by the 3 pt line. Should be able to take over on the boards like we did against Ole Miss. Kevin Punter is the "guy" for them, basically another Stephen Moody type player. Averaging 22.4 pts a game.

ETA: I think that's one thing we've all be clamoring and wanting for in recruiting, a player like Moody/Punter/Obasahan/Canty, just guys that can shoot lights out. Kinda like Brenton Williams was for us a few years ago.
