Yea hitting's still a big issue with this team. They were clutch this week rather than last, LB with that 2 run double on Thursday was clutch & Sunday we weren't able to manufacture anything, just got 3 long balls that really helped & 2 gimme runs by the A&M RF. We need to dominate UT this weekend, give this team some confidence at the plate.

Yes I agree...confidence goes a long way in baseball, and can turn a season around or make an already good season into a great one....

Colby starting tomorrow against CSU. Heard he'll at least go 3 innings & have around a 75 pitch count, so he can contribute to some capacity this weekend, possibly starting Sunday.

Good 9-5 win! I was disappointed seeing our 3rd pitcher taking the mound in the 4th inning - not at all what was hoped for with another game tomorrow and an away series this weekend versus the Vols. But Vincent came in and held things together for a solid 3.2 innings, and restored order. We'll have Seddon, Koumas, and Knabb available against Furman, and hopefully Fiori will be available for some bump time in Knoxville....

Ahmad plastered the ball to the outfield wall for what would've been a stand-up double, but in his excitement and haste he missed the bag at 1st, and was called out on appeal. Still he should take some confidence from his appearance as he really stroked the ball....it was just his base-running that needs work...

Fun & long game myself. Heckling my former teammate in RF all night long who plays for CSU, with a bunch of HS buddies was fun.

Watched it on TV at the house. Colby looked like he was just grooving it right down the middle a little too much. Hope he can make some better pitches if he goes this weekend, or he could get rocked.

Dantzler is a monster. Has to be one of the early favorites for SECPOY.

I would think Mason Katz has POY locked up at the moment that guy has just been killing it. Yea it seemed Colby was leaving it up & CSU couldn't catch up to the fastball till the 4th, when Holmes started getting hit.

uh, yeah. first pitch of the game: fastball RIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE but the CSU batter hit it right back to him.

It's no wonder why he's struggled this year. He's got to improve his location cause better teams don't miss those pitches.

Disappointing loss tonight against Furman. Koumas was not very good again, he's just not been the same since his injury last season. Seddon again didn't pitch great gives up a damn bomb after we take the lead 5-4. Then LB has an error on a bunt, that guy eventually scores to go ahead run to win it for Furman. Overall a disappointing night imo.

Furman 6-5

It's sad how bad the pitching is this season really the only great/good pitchers we have atm are Belcher, Beal, Fiori, Westy, & Webb. Good news is however Montgomery supposedly is good to go in some type of role this weekend against the Vols.

I have such a love/hate relationship for Holmes. I really think his game struggles are 100% mental, and no one can pull him out of this funk except himself. He seems like he starts playing through it, then boom! a walk or a hit and he starts going downhill.

Yes we did! Montgomery pitched very well in his return from arm injury...hopefully he'll be pain-free from the effort and can return to full-time duty versus Florida next weekend, as we'll need him. Colby also pitched very well despite giving up the lone dinger and both runs scored by UT. One run was from another error from Pankake.

Our bats came alive today and during this series. Hopefully that injects some confidence into the team and we start hitting well on from here. Ahmad got his first official hit as a Gamecock today, congrats for him! A TON of 2-out hits, doubles, at least one triple and 2 HRs as well. Good job!

A very solid day all around. I hope after Holmes solid outing he returns at the Sunday role, & Montgomery's back into the rotation. Having Beal back in the bullpen will be huge.

Seddon getting the start against The Citadel on Tuesday, a good sign that possibly Holmes is back in the weekend rotation.

Wow what a way to win it! I wish I could've been there but I was following the gametracker and Pankake homered to give us the 6-5 win after Cid scored 3 in the top of the 9th to tie it up! I'm really glad we didn't have to go into extra innings.

It was electric, it's unbelievable how bad our bullpen is when you don't have Webb/Westy/Fiori out there.

Schrock is diagnosed with a slight concussion. X-rays showed no fracture. It's up in the air atm whether he'll make the trip.

Holbrook said he was optimistic that he'll be able to make the trip but it's not a slam dunk.
