My 2 cents on Jay Urich

There has been a lot of shade, on various sites not really this one, towards this young man and our staff for the selection so I thought I'd throw my counterpoint out there.
Yes the guy is not very highly recruited nor is he presently lighting it up technique wise. However there are other factors to be considered. #1 JC Shurburtt made a good point today in Jay's ability to help recruit. The guy is all over the place on social media to that end. #2 He has the right build and will have plenty of time to develop with us now having both McIlwain and Bentley ahead of him on the Depth Chart. #3 We have only offered, as of right now, 10 QBs for this class and all but Urich and one other guy were highly touted QBs that have committed elsewhere already and seem to be fairly solid in their commitment. If Urich wasn't a take for this class one would think more offers would be flowing. and finally #4 With our present staffs ability to recruit and the fact that we have the 2018 #2 Dual threat QB coming next month and a shot at Dakereon Joyner, however slim that shot may be, even if we take Urich there is a very real chance he could spend his entire collegiate career as a back up and even if we went for another QB it will very likely be one marginally better/higher recruited that could easily share that same fate.
The point I'm trying to make is that there is no way to know what will happen if/when Urich gets to campus. I for one think that it is a wise move that if you are going to take a chance on a guy and that if your main focus is to "Take back the state" then you take that chance on an in state guy.

This is precisely the reason we are recruiting him I think.
