I fall into the "who cares" camp.
It's a nonviolent protest folks. All these guys are doing is taking a knee. Okay. No one is calling out soldiers, stomping on the flag, laying it on the ground, folding it incorrectly, or burning it. It is entirely their right to protest however they wish, just like it is entirely the right of people who hate the protest to call them out. There are so many other things going on the world to worry about that this is a non-starter to me. Hell this country was founded after a non-violent protest.
For those hate the move, what would you like to see them do instead?

There are ways to spread awareness tastefully
We started a 22 pushup challenge to raise awareness for veteran suicide. 22 being the number of vets who commit suicide daily. You do 22 pushups for 22 days and post a daily vid of yourself doing them. You get ppl joining in and it spreads like wildfire to their friends and so on ect.
Message reached hundreds.

If people did things tastefully most of the shite we've done as a species wouldn't be here. Societies are built on lies, protests and killing. They also collapse because of them too. Someone taking a knee at a football game is a whole lot more tasteful than a lot of things we've done to be where we are. If I wiped my arse with the flag and burned it you could call that distasteful but some dude kneeling as a protest. Nah. It's harmless.

You could also spread awareness by telling people to not sign up due to the mental problems caused by war, lack of adequate care, mass rape, and waste of human and financial potential lost by joining the military. Is it really worth losing everything for lies?

Let's not be so easily offended. Let people be people. You can't force anyone to do anything they don't want to do. Our country was built on protest. It wasn't the Boston Tea Party that started the protest, it was the Boston massacre just a few days earlier where British police killed citizens. Wow, what a coincidence that police brutality still starts protests hundreds of years later.
This is a non issue. Let's enjoy football. Go Gators.
Drop the mike...

No one is arguing whether it’s their right to kneel. Everyone acknowledges that.
The question is should they? Don’t say you respect the troops while kneeling when you know the majority of veterans find kneeling to be extremely disrespectful.
If blacks can be offended over the symbolism of a statue then veterans can be offended over the symbolism of kneeling.

If there was a clear message of what they were protesting against that'd be different. Some say it's a flag and anthem protest, some say it's a police brutality protest, some say it's an oppression protest, some say it's an Anti-Trump protest.
I'm proud to be an American. I don't have a platform to show it, but I am proud. And when they play the national anthem in Gainesville on Friday, I'll be standing with my hand over my heart and singing along. Being an American is special, and with it entails the right to not only be proud, but to dissent. I respect those players rights to kneel and protest whatever it is they're protesting. But I would ask that they respect my right, and many other people's right, to disagree with them. I can have an individual opinion that is different from every other individual on this board. That doesn't mean we can't get along, or discuss what our opinions are without getting into a big name calling shite show.
I stand to respect that flag and the millions of people who have died or will die defending it. I stand for it because the life we live in America is something that people in other nations only dream of. There's a reason people risk their lives fleeing true oppression to come here. Saudi Arabian women JUST got the right to drive in their own country. Just ponder that for a moment when you're thinking about millionaire athletes complaining that they're oppressed.
That's all I got to say about this
