The funny thing about that flea-flicker against Clemson...

It was a head-scratcher for sure, but a buddy of mine who was at the game swears that someone actually got open for it...that is, had the play been a "typical" flea flicker. However, Gus' overly-fancy version took so long to develop, Clemson's D finally recognized it & had enough time to get someone to cover the open man. So basically, style points ultimately trumped scoreboard points...umm, yay?

It was wide open. There was another play where we had someone completely wide the frick open on a post. I need to get off of here

It was open initially but the play took too long to develop..

That's what I'm saying. If Gus hadn't run a flea flicker that belonged in a Hollywood movie, it would've actually been successful. Instead, the Clemson D could've had enough time to grab some Gatorade before covering the receivers.

It wasn't open. Taylor Muse picked up the back running the wheel route where the play was going.

The post down the middle of the field was the first option and it was open initially.

Right when Stidham caught hte ball, safety recovered. It was at a minimum covered 1 on 1. Another deep 3rd zone man also would have been able to recover underneath on a pass that long

There was a post pattern that was open. Looks like Stidham saw it right as the safeties were recovering
