All I can recall is two wins by Coach Parseghian and Notre Dame over Alabama in Sugar and Orange Bowl games.

Alabama didn't beat Notre Dame until 1986. I think even you can do that math.

Notre Dame used to be the class of college football. Now they barely make the midtier.

Durn.

You mean the Bear couldn't touch Notre Dame even when he had all those unlimited Bama squads of the '60s?

Didn't he have something like 100+ players dressed out for the games back in those days.

Durn. That really sucks.

And an even better question is why would a school stay in a conference where they are truly not wanted by anyone.

During the era of unlimited scholarships, all schools had unlimited scholarships.

It wasn't just Alabama, Texas, etc.

You are right that was sweet to watch, Bama blew that game in 1973 giving up a kickoff return for a TD.

He obviously meant Mizzou, you inbred Gump.

And yes, LSU whipped Bryant's drunk, wifebeating arse in his Last game so bad he quit all together 4 months later

The Bear hated ND, ironically Texas was his other nemesis and he was very close with Texas HC Darrell Royal.

Read a quote recently where the Bear said the LD bill between he and Royal would hit $10k a year.
