If you don't mind living with a bunch of SJW snowflakes you can get a nice place cheap*.

The race-fueled protests at the University of Missouri took a huge bite out of enrollment, with the student population dropping 35 percent since the fall 2015. Local landlords are having so much trouble finding students to rent their off-campus housing that some are offering $1,000 gift cards or major rent reductions, the Devils Lake Journal reports.

A recent Columbia City Council report found that the vacancy rate has risen to almost 10 percent in Columbia—with rates spiking to nearly 13 percent outside a one-mile radius from campus.

The Lyfe at Mizzou, a 450-bed apartment complex with a computer lab and a free shuttle to campus, has tried to entice students with $250-per-tenant gift card. It also promises students they can apply for free and sign a lease with no money down, according to the Devils Lake Journal.

Mizzou provides an off-campus housing search, but several of the property managers we called said they did not want to comment about anything related to the university’s declining enrollment.

Okay I'll admit it. I did get a gift card when I signed my lease.

Where was it to?

A grand to spend on bacon would be worth it but a grand for Mizzou tickets would be worth much less.

Pretty soon, some of those older apartments closer to campus will start renting out section 8.

I kind of doubt that there are nearly as many SJWs on the Columbia campus as before when all that shite happened. A conservative state like Missouri has surely taken measures to clean house, so to speak. It'll be a long time before they live it down but at least they learned a valuable lesson and the rest of us learned from their mistake, hopefully. I can't imagine that crap happening at another school now.

Sorry for all the shite references, Mizzou fans, but that poop swastika is a classic.

Universities are SJW safe spaces so while there may be less there will always be more there than almost anywhere else in the world.

It would be interesting to know the breakdown of where the decrease in students is coming from. We get a lot of Illinois folk so if they are slowing down on coming anymore I'm not seeing a problem.

While this isn't great a controlled fire does get rid of a lot of weeds.

The poop swastika was tried in Rhode Island too.

they keep getting knocked down for new high rise apartments. There is actually a building boom with like half a dozen new downtown high rise apts and another half a dozen or so being built. Which might have something to do with the vacancy rate.

We now return you to your locally scheduled inbred rant
