Mac will be fired next year reel. He's a bad coach and recruiter. Its okay. He'll get his millions. We've looked like shite the last 2 years. Stricklin has zero ties to Mac. You're dreaming if you think this team gets 9 wins next year.

We have 3 away games next year. Thats it: South Carolina, Mizzou, and Kentucky.

I think we go 11-1 next season, with a loss to FSU.

As much as I hate to admit it, FSU is gonna be absolutely LOADED next year.

Cece played yesterday. Maybe if the staff recruited defense like they were at UF and not FAU we wouldn't be having depth problems

Mac is here at least 2 more years.

If thats a problem for you, go root for another team. Because clearly you dont root for the Gators, only show up to b i t c h when we lose.

Not a peep after the LSU game when they clinched the East hhhmmmm

Takes more than 1 full cycle to replenish a defense.

I'll take my chances with Charlie Strong. frick Collins and his shitty personnel packages. I'm not a huge fan of his scheme either.

I thought the defense was fine against FSU and Alabama. They just threw in the towel at the end of both games. Hard to blame them with this offense.

Edit - OK, let me look at this in numbers just in case:

Ark - 49 car - 223 yards 4.55 YPC 2 TD
LSU - 45 car - 219 yards 4.87 YPC 1 TD
FSU - 40 car - 249 yards 6.23 YPC 3 TD
ALA - 38 car - 234 yards 6.16 YPC 4 TD

Shredded on the ground against the last 4 decent teams they have played.

They were solid against the pass all year long though. Outside of that one random UT game they dominated in that part of the game.

Honestly, I'd say this is just a sign of injuries piling up, because UF was pretty solid against the run earlier in the year.

I think recruiting is what will ultimately doom them here.

Didn't they start as a College Coordinator at one point. And then became head coaches because they did well in the NFL as a coordinator. Why is he an idiot they both held the same position at UF at one point its called job progression. Collins is linked to HC jobs around the country he is still progressing in his career. Are you saying we should compare Bobby Petrino to only Nick Saban because they both went to the NFL and came back.

A decision??? A decision on what? Pray tell.

Retain v Terminate - that decision. At a minimum it will be a decision on whether to allow the staff to remain intact or force Mac to let some of them go.

Mac is most likely at UF for TWO more years...so dont go there and he is not going to be forced to fire or hire anyone unless he wants to. Its just crazy talk after a bad loss. Two SECCGs and two bowl games and the new AD is going to threaten him? Im laughing now UF...come on dude, you are smarter than that.

Helfrich went to the playoff and won 33 games in 3 years. He had one bad year, which was this year. He got canned.
I am going there, just like many other athletic programs have. The foolish thing here would be to write off such a possibility.
I am 100% confident that if the bowl game looks like a bag of arse, he will be forced to make changes, and that's his best case scenario. Look at the old media guides: Spurrier was HBC, OC, QB Coach. Mac can call plays and do without Nuss if he has to. And, he may have to.
It's not crazy talk. The offense is not loaded, but it is better off personnel-wise yet its production has gotten worse.
Laugh all you want. Let me know when you want to join rational thinking.

CFB is in a very dangerous time. Between the arms race for facilities and the playoff system, we are creating an environment where the joy and passion tied to regular rivalries, division races, conference titles, and traditional OOC matchups is all being usurped by Strength of Record for the playoff ranking. A bubble is going to burst and the only survivors will be those in great financial shape and those playing at a high level. UF is taking a huge risk with facility upgrades and a team that is not playing at a high level.

Recruiting is not going well at the moment. The offense is abysmal. Trajectory, best case scenario, is horizontal. It's one thing to be flat and stable when you dominate the world. For UF's current position, horizontal is not good.

Oregon
2010 12-1 played for national title, won Pac10
2011 12-2 Rose Bowl champs, won Pac10
2012 12-1 Fiesta Bowl champs
2013 11-2 Alamo Bowl champs
2014 13-2 Pac12 champs, playoff team
2015 9-4 Lost in Alamo Bowl

In the six years leading to this season they have a combined 12 losses; 3 conference titles, 3 major bowl wins, played for a national title, played in first playoff.

So, yeah it was a mistake to compare UF to Oregon at this time. Oregon is clearly the superior program right now.

Lick a dead dogs arse. We have 2 DT next year. 6 LBers, and zero proven cbs returning. Our best spots are DE and S. This team has talent issues on both sides of the ball. We have exactly 1 commit for the OL-DL. We have zero proven QBs, an average OL, 1 proven WR, 2 good RBs and average TEs. The offense isn't going to magically be fixed by just changing out 1 position. How many of our players would even make the 2 deep at FSU, Bama, LSU, Michigan, OSU, etc?

Ivey
Brantley
Davis
Tabor
Wilson
AC81
Maye
Cece

DT depth is a huge concern. But we return 16 out of 17 OL if Sharpe goes pro, and all 17 if he doesn't. I think we want 18, so this wasn't a year of needing more offense linemen as badly as in the past. But you can't say no to talented guys like Leatherwood, Telfort, Donaldson, etc. if they want in the class. I think we need some beef at DT in this class and 2 or 3 more DBs which I expect us to get in a combination of Brad Edwards, Brian Edwards, Tray Bishop, Shaun Wade. This DB class is gonna be sick. And I like that Malik Davis kid at RB and adding Daquan Greens size and WR and probably James Robinsons size as well when he commits on NSD.

And to your point about very few of our players starting at other elite schools, I think it's fair to say that our whole starting secondary including Marcell Harris and Duke Dawson and Marcus Maye (1st team AA last year) could start anywhere, Davis and Anzalone when healthy could start anywhere, and Cece and Brantley on the DL would play anywhere. On offense, I think Scarlett and Perine could get carries at most schools, Callaway obviously and Cleveland showed flashes so he'd see the field too. I think Martez Ivey and David Sharpe would be able to start at FSU and get playing time at most schools.

DT depth is scary, and the talent left behind isn't exactly earth shattering either.

No one in the SEC is scared of Khairi Clark and Taven Bryan starting in the middle next year.

UF probably needs to move Desir Jones and Riles back to DT, to be honest.

The Ends will have to play really really well next year. It's probably the most talented unit on the defense now.

Sadly, this may result in a permanent move for Cece to DT, where he just isn't quite as good.
