I don't have a problem with the playoff selection, BUT

By playing an extra game, Alabama lost a starting linebacker. (I tried to find injury info on Washington and Clemson specific to their championship games but came up short). Of course, Ohio State didn't face that issue.
Alabama benefited from the same situation in 2011, though I don't know if any LSU players were knocked out for the season in their SEC championship game.
Just something of note.

I don't think it matters much. Y'all plug and play

We worry a lot about our QB still being in the game late and Saturday was no exception. He rolled left and found himself 3 on 1 with UF defenders. When the dust settled 2 Florida players were injured.

Is SDH for sure done? Any chance he can get healthy for the washington game? I hadnt seen an update on his status.

I have a serious problem with the playoff selection. They just said conference champs and head to head mean nothing and we are going to put who we want in the playoff.
Due to Ohio St's good resume, the committee might have a leg to stand on if they EITHER hadn't played each other OR Penn St wasn't conference champ, but with both...that is BS.

it's not a playoff system. It's a committee driven decision picking the teams that will deliver the most fans and highest ratings on TV. Winning a conference championship is no longer important in college football as it means absolutely nothing in the NFL. It's now all bout feeding the largest programs to play on TV the most for media dollars.

I have said it before, I will say it again...
when you ignore the conference champions you make the conference championship game irrelevant... therefore over time the conference championship games will be eliminated...
your post is a perfect example of why.
