Sounds like a winner with the other gifts you already have. My girlfriend wanted to be surprised so she won't tell me anything. The only thing she mentioned was wanting to go sking so I'm trading in some Delta miles and taking her up to Sunshine Village near Banff. Exchange rate is $1.35 Canadian so it should be a good deal

You want the Neato. It's cheaper, larger dust bin capacity, and it actually has lasers.......
Really it's miles better than a round disk that bounces around a room. The neto scans the room, lays out a floor plan and plots a some what efficient path. It can vacuumed corners while a Roomba cannot. I've had one for over a year and still love coming home to straight just vacuumed lines on the carpet.
Order it from Bed Bath and Beyond and use a 20% coupon.

A vacuum cleaner as a Christmas gift?
I don't care what else I got my wife, I'm not sure she would be happy with a vacuum cleaner for Christmas.
ETA
If you are sold on it, though, here is a link to ebay for $716.00 shipping included.

The Neato on ebay is going for about half that.

this might be one of those "I never thought I would until I did and now I hate I waited so long" kinda deals, but I honestly cannot ever see myself for any reason whatsoever spending $800 on a vacuum. Ever.

Plus you can't even stick your dick in this vacuum cleaner

One of the things I've tossed around is getting the Amazon Echo for my wife. It basically amazons personal assistant. Of course you'll probably need to be a prime member to get anything out of it, but it's pretty sweet.
It also interfaces with smart home devices like wifi wall outlets, nest thermostats, etc. So basically you can voice control your home to some extent.
Seems pretty cool.

Got a Roomba and while I like it for my hardwood floors downstairs there is a reason I have a Neato on the way. After watching countless videos on YT and across the net I've come to the conclusion that the Neato is the better vac and will do a better job on the carpets upstairs.

I got my wife a gift certificate for laser hair removal two years ago. We don't have to worry about carpet anymore.

We can definitely agree on this.
I don't care how cool you think it is....DO NOT get your significant other a vacuum for Christmas.
Unless you don't want them around much longer.

Meh, times have changed. Back in the 50s I can see getting the latest Hoover for your wife being insulting, basically saying she needs to stay home cleaning the house all the time. These days a roomba and others actually make things easier and more convenient for the wife, so I wouldn't think there'd be too much wrong with that as a gift.

I've been married for 16 years.....you?
Just kidding - a vacuum might be a good "other" gift....but the primary gift needs to be something she would want to show off to her friends. This isn't a "times have changed" thing ....this is a woman thing.
Unless his SO is a dude...then I guess it works.

Truth.
Never buy your wife an appliance as a gift.
Married 14 years.
