Let him get brooks ellis out of the system. Love him, but brooks can be attributed to a lot of our suckage. Smith did give us a top 10 defense.
Fire Segrest tomorrow tho
Eta Let the downvotes rain

The only way I'm ok with keeping him for another year is if his contract is restructured in such a way that his entire salary goes to me, and that I personally get to kick him in the face and the dick every single morning. If that is approved then he can stay.

Widely regarded as one of our best linebackers. I don't know that Brooks leaving will be such a great thing.

If Bert wants to get fired next season, that's one way to do it.

Its not the players, its the coaching. We can't tackle most of the time, we take poor angles, and the one part of our defense that has shown marked improvement this year is the position group that was basically handed to another coach.

sure he's our best in experience and getting the D lined up right
Others behind him are better at speed and pass coverage.

And as for our D giving up the QB runs. Just about everybody struggles with that.
Also not surprised that 6'5 240lb QB is trucking our DB's getting into the end zone

Held them scoreless after their initial 14 points
And Smith is kinda known for his halftime adjustments..

Cant use that score against him brother. The WR pushed off the defender and it wasn't called...
I saw it with my own eyes.

If Robb is here next year my level of hype will be at an all time low.

I like you, but this is one of the dumber takes I've ever seen on this board.
This is one of the worst defenses in Razorback history. We cannot stop anyone. We can't even get lined up properly.

We have a personnel issue more than a scheme issue. Smith wants to blitz way more than Bert allows him to.
They saw their error in moving Randy Ramsey to DE instead of leaving him at LB and letting him progress where he had shown some promise in his FR year. Moving Bell to TE where he's even behind Gragg was just pure dumbassery.
Maybe Scoota, Ramsey and Pool will finally give us 3 SEC caliber LB. Dwayne Eugene has the football instincts of a cinder block.
This walk on program needs to identify 3 raw athletes in the state each year regardless of position, grades, school size, or anything. Give them lotto scholarships, Redshirt them. Give them 2 years to become beasts in the weight room and to teach them the pure fundamentals of the LB position. Bert was a LB coach when he started, he has to have retained some of those skills. By this point in his tenure had they done that, we would have to have some capable options at LB out of 12 stud athletes that have been coached up. You get 20 a year to bring in or something like that and 20 can be preferred walkons and go through early fall camp and 15 others can start practice when classes start.
Do the same with OL/DL instead of bringing in QB and RB that will only run scout team reps, when maybe the back ups should be running those reps.
