No chance for either. If Hurts plays out of his mind the last 5 weeks then he has an outside chance of being invited to the ceremony. Leonard missed too much time

Jalen Hurts even being considered for Heisman is a complete joke.
Please, stop. He has no chance.
Then again, AJ McCarron, for whatever reason, but also in the Heisman race.

It's about the same really. They can be really good at times but they blow assignments routinely. They need a perfect game to win Saturday.

That's the whole point. If Hurts wins out and puts up some numbers doing it, he'll be in NYC. Same goes for Fournette. Maybe even for Pettway.

Well they told us last year how stellar it was.....
This is the key.

Hurts hasn't done anything that is Heisman worthy.
You start watching the Heisman race just this year? While I agree Hurts hasn't been Heisman-worthy on his own merits thus far, a quarterback putting up dazzling numbers while leading an undefeated #1 team (and, by the time of the ceremony, we'll know if he's leading them to the playoffs) is always going to get at least some Heisman consideration. That's the nature of the beast. I don't recall if McElroy got any buzz, but he wasn't making a lot of huge plays on his own.

Either Leonard or Hurts goes off and leads their team to victory, they'll be in the thick of the conversation.
Henry took control of it last year in this game. Just sayin

If LF goes off these last four games....and helps up beat Bama in the process he will win it hands down. It won't matter that he missed time. The Heisman committee knows he is the best player in the country and that is who it should go to if he helps the Tigers win out.

I mean yeah Derrick Henry won the heisman off beating LSU that should tell you something.
He's so bad
He's so bad

All you peeps saying Fournette has no chance are wrong. It won't be easy, but it is doable. This game is the launching pad opportunity.
Formula for Fournette to win:
1) vs Bama - 50+ TD run to win the game, 150 yds or more total
2) vs Ark, Fla, A&M, East winner - average 175 (he is at 167 ypg right now) ypg, at least one huge game 250+
3) 1 high light reel "truck" of some poor DB per game
4) LSU has to win SEC
If this happens, LF will win and you can take that to the bank.

I certainly don't think LF goes for 200 on the ground, but I think a lot of people are overlooking him in the passing game. Coach O has shown that he wants to get the ball in LFs hands. I really liked the formation against OM where we had Lf at FB and Guice at RB and ran LF out into the flat matched up on a LBer.
If LF has a stat line of say 75 on the ground, 90 through the air and a couple of TDs he will absolutely be back into the discussion.
How has Bamas D defended backs out the backfield this year?

LSU must win the game as well. That's a must for him to be in the discussion.

I don't care if Hurts throws for 300 yards and two TD while running for 3, he is not a heisman candidate. If Fournette runs for 150-200 against Bama he will definitely be back in the discussion.

1 year ago today
The longest shot won, and 3 guys finished out of the top 5. 6,8,and 10. Y'all need to recognize.
ETA Jackson will probably win because he has the path of least resistance. I'm talking about top 3ish conversation.

He is back in the discussion for the moment but the only way he catches the field is if he leads his team to winning out. He can put up some really good stats and his team not win out. In that case he will not win. He has missed three games due to injury and lost a game on the schedule that will hurt him on stats. He cant out stat the other guys. He will have to have a compelling leadership story.

According to that article Henry was 14-1 at this point last year. LF is not even 100-1 at this point. He is so far out of the discussion. If he finishes the rest of the year averaging 200 a game and 2 tds and LSU wins out he might finish top 3, best case scenario

The end of this season is about putting Hurts name in nomination. Will he win it this year? Probably not, but no one knows one way or another. If he goes on and has a great year and leads Bama to a NC even if he doesn't win he will be #1 going into next season.
