#1) Jimbo Fisher
-4 ACC championships
-1 National championship (BCS)
-1 playoff appearance

#2) Mark Dantonio
-2 Big 10 championships
-1 playoff appearance

#3) Jim Mackelwayne
-turned things around at Colorada State
-won SEC East first year at Florida
-will probably win SEC East his second year

#4) Will Muschamp
-3 and done in gainesville
-4&4 in year one in columbia (beat Vandy though)

#5) Derek Dooley
-3 and done in tennesee
-gets paid to bring Dez Bryant gatorade on sidelines now

Are there more?

Can't put Kirby on the list yet, but first year wise, he's more on the Derek Dooley and Muschamp side of things.

Bummer.

Kirby is the prize apple on the tree though.

It took Dantonio awhile to get the John L Smith flakiness culture out of Michigan State. He got the job in 2007 and they didn't have a big time season until 2010. That was a talented but softer than baby shite program when he got there.

Although not a Saban disciple check out Dabo's track record. He was a WR coach before being called up to HC and struggled his first 3 seasons. He's looking pretty good for his second playoff run this year.

Funny he didn't have any HC experience....guess theyre lucky they didn't fire him in 2010 when they went 6-7 (2nd full year as HC).

Remember "Clemsoning"?

Isn't Dabos strength being able to recruit really well? Who does that make me think of. Hmmmm. Guess Clemson is just really lucky.

They should've fired his arse.

6-7 ? What a shitty coach....starting a TE as a QB too. Moron.

You're missing the point. They paid him to learn on the job and it took that dumbass 3 yrs to become relevant. He sure is lucky.

He even lost to us in 2014. What a clown.

Not sure why you're bringing up Dabo Swinney in a thread about the Saban Disciple Assembly Line.

Also, not sure why you skipped over Dabo's first year and are instead focusing on his second. Probably, because Dabo actually went 9 & 5 his first year and won whatever their divison of the ACC is called.....and so that destroys the point you're trying to make, am i right?

Squatch, You really love Kirby don't you? Is it the visor? Or just your seething Richt hatred? What gives?

Didn't mean to hijack but thought this was a good spot to post about a coordinator that struggled but then grew into the role. Also...his first year and first full year as HC are two different years.

Point being that he still had 5 losses that year and did worse the following...so new coaches need time to develop into the role. He's doing better now than a lot of guys brought in with experience.

I'm not a huge fan of Kirby...but don't think it's fair to pile on the poor bastard in his first year. Richt had 15 yrs so at that point he's fair game. I might dog Right for fun but was of the mindset that he should've gotten a little more slack with Eason coming in and to deal with the Pruitt and Schottenheimer mess.

But he didn't....time to move on and be patient. That's my take.

Right. One of them being the ACC championship game.

I don't care about thread hijacks, just trying to understand your point.

You were always pretty vocal about how people starting the fire Richt threads at halftime were full of shite and cowards. I agreed for the most part...although I was prone to getting pissed from time to time.

Now you're throwing our first year alum HC under the bus before the seasons even out. So I'll ask you...what gives?

Dabo would be a good proof source other than Kirbs OC makes about what Dabo was making for OTJT. Now he is proven and makes 20% more than Kirbs.

I'm not throwing anyone under the bus, and I don't give up at halftime or quit on them at the first sign of adversity like the mental patients do in the game threads here. Hell, I can't even watch Georgia games with half of my family because they're like that. It's pathetic.

But, we've lost four of our last five games and have looked worse each game for the most part. We might not make a bowl game this year. And I haven't seen anything tangible from all of Kirby's efforts that is actually working to prevent any of that. It's the pretty much the same story each game or worse. And that's just reality right now.

Dan Quinn was the D line coach under Saban in Miami..? I think Jason Garrett was on that staff too.
