I think the 8 team playoff will be the best way to claim a champion. Ultimately, you don't want a 17 game schedule. So, what would you do? Have a 10 or 11 game schedule with only one OOC game? What would your suggestion be?

5 power conference champions, 3 at large. Quaterfinals are played on campus
11 game regular season
Last year would have been:
Norte Dame@ Clemson
tOSU@ Bama
Stanford@MSU
And Iowa@ Oklahoma

That's why I got your girl for.

That's sounds good. I never thought that the BCS was a bad thing. I say keep the BCS rankings and the top 8 play it out.

Not like Mississippi State fans will ever have to worry about the Playoffs anyway

Maybe from now on... They were the first ever #1 seed when the first set of Playoff rankings came out though.

Only way an 8 team playoff will work is when the five Conferences play under the same rules. Equal number of Conference Games and a Conference Championship Game.

Well that's impressive. Too bad it's about the only thing with even less meaning than a co-division championship.

Let's see. When was the last time Auburn beat State ? 2013. Auburn paid how much to win their last national title? I think it was 200k to get Cam . Too bad State could only afford 180k to bring Cam in. State might could have won the title that year.

Sorry bud. Your ex-QB booster offered Cam's dad because he knew there was no other way to get a recruit like that to Starkville. As a man of God he did what was right and declined and did what was best for his son and sent him to Auburn free of charge. Per the NCAA.
Y'all are lucky MSU wasn't put on probation for that stunt, but lucky for you the NCAA decided that the perpetual death penalty of having a campus located in Starkville, MS was punishment enough

Free of charge. The Newton family banked in 200k from Auburn. That's the going rate for a Natty that year.

Do you have proof? I'm sure you can find it much easier than the NCAA and FBI who set up camp in Auburn for a full year

The whole Newton saga is on the SEC network . SEC network version of ESPN 30 for 30. I can't remember what they call it. How is those trees coming along? What is his name? Updyke? That dude is about as stupid as they come. " Do you know they put a Scam Newton on Byrant's statue? Do you know what I did? I poisoned the trees. Then he tried to deny it. " I might have said it but I didn't do it." He had me rolling.

Yeah I know it is. Did they find proof I'm unaware of? Maybe you should send a copy of the 30 for 30 to the NCAA offices.
You know that's the difference between Auburn and Mississippi State as programs. We allegedly pay a player, get away with it, and win the National Championship. Mississippi State hires a convicted NCAA cheat in Jackie Sherrill. Gets caught cheating (surprise surprise) and only managed a co-division championship out of it
Btw, how many times has MSU been charged with violations now under Mullen? Hint: the number is greater than the number of charges Auburn was given because of Cam Newton

I'm for 6 teams. Top 2 get a bye and the other 4 play for the right to play the top 2

I think they would when a guarantee that their champion gets in and a better chance for a second team getting in

So you got you power 5 teams, and only 1 at large bid? 2 at large bids would make more sense.
