Wouldn't be shocked to see that increase in risk. Low is going to come off the rockies. While over the mountains, you'll have the air compressed but still a relative low pressure area. When it ejects into the southern planes, the air column stretches out and the low increases in intensity very quickly. The severe threat will be most focused nearest the "triple point" where the warm front moving north toward the low and the cold front moving east meet up right by the low.

That being said, the mid south will be close enough to be under the gun. Happy El Nino.

I was just talking to a friend that lives near Denver. They're talking they could get 2" of snow, per hour from this front coming through there.

That wouldn't be surprising. Midwest gets a blizzard out of it.

I'm eyeing early Mardi Gras week for some winter weather across the south. Both major global models have a low tracking across the Gulf Coast, putting all of the SE in a moist but cold sector. First though...don't die in the severe weather.

*sidebar: Anybody tells you our coming weird weather is caused by global warming, slap them. It's El Nino.

I really hate that Algore (didn't know I've listened to Rush with some frequency huh?) took on the climate change cause. Could have gotten more conservatives on board.

Stay safe though bro, I might be forced to open up the fear chamber next week.

It's going to be in the 70s this week. Those two weeks of winter were fun

I haven't listened to Rush since the late 90's.

I used to enjoy Glenn Beck's radio program before he ever got on tv. It was an entertaining show and had some funny segments.

I don't guess I really listen to any talk radio anymore, other than the occasional sports show. And very rarely watch network or cable news, unless there is something breaking and a big deal. Too many better news sources online to get info now.

Hope it misses. I just got done cutting up two trees and patching the fence from the wind from that winter storm two weeks ago,

El Nino means you likely won't get your wish.

The warm equatorial pacific leads to rising air and a split jet stream. The subtropical jet will train energy your way until late April.

I hate these people bitching about cold weather. We don't get tornados when its 30 degrees.
