Richt will be in hot demand for one of the many HC jobs out there. I do not see him going anywhere as an OC. He said he already had some opportunities and who knows it may not be football related

Already talks of Richt to Maryland fwiw.
Norm Chow is jobless last I checked.

Richt will be a head coach.

Rob Ryan just recently achieved Norm Chow status, I.E. living off his name more so than his ability now.

Perfect comparison.
I'll admit, he had me fooled a while back with USC's offense as well as Rivers/Palmer's development.
Then, reality set in with the Titans. Unreal at how long he has actually rode the high.

Richt would be a dream OC and isn't that far off to think about. He will have HC opportunities, but will it be a Miami or USCe, or Western Michigan/Toledo. If it's the later, $2 mil for Bama OC for a couple of years is a legit possibility.
Keep in mind, in the current financial landscape of CFB, we have non power 5 HCs taking Power 5 coordinator jobs at top schools. IF Kiffin moves on to a power 5 HC position, it isn't too far fetched to see Richt as a similar 2 year guy.
Plus Saban and Richt really seem to like/respect each other.

I totally agree. They seem to really respect each other. IF he does just want to be an OC/QB coach for a little bit before jumping back into a HC gig, there is no better option than Alabama imo. Saban coming out and being critical of his firing, to me, only adds to the possibility of it

The recruiting possibilities would be just unbelievable with Richt as OC

I would assume any money made at a new job reduces his buyout from Georgia, as is the case with most coaching contracts. That was the reason Kiffin was the only returning assistant this year that did not get a raise. Why pay more when another school will foot part of the bill?

Not sure of the terms of his buyout. A colleague mentioned it was only around $4 mil and spread out
