Here is how the Tennessee coaching search will go in the offseason

1. Butch gets fired. Tennessee fans make their wishlist of unreasonable dream candidates with no chance in reality, i.e. Jon Gruden.
2. All of their dream candidates say they "are not interested" within 24 hours of the vacancy.
3. Tennessee fans make a slightly more realistic yet still pretty far fetched and unrealistic list of candidates, i.e. Art Briles, Kyle Whittingham, Gary Patterson, Sonny Dykes, and Pat Fitzgerald.
4. None of those candidates are interested either, so Tennessee realizes it won't be able to poach a successful P5 coach and has to look toward G5 coaches.
5. The obvious G5 candidates like Justin Fuente, Tom Herman, and Matt Campbell all turn Tennessee down and take jobs at other P5 openings.
6. Tennessee ignores successful coordinators at P5 programs who are ready for a head job like Scott Frost and Doug Meacham, saying they want head coaching experience.
7. Finally Tennessee picks up some mediocre G5 head coach with a track record of mediocrity, just like Dooley and Butch.
8. Tennessee fans skip past the medicore track record and overall low energy/low impact hire and spin him as the "next great coach" and "a home run hire" and "the one who will get Tennessee back" to the glory days. Tennessee fans change their avatars with the coach and their signatures to banners with the coach in it with taglines that say how great the coach is.
9. Tennessee bagmen are able to buy some high profile recruits, and the Tennessee fans attribute this to how great the coach is, how great of a recruiter he is, and how the recruiting is because of how awesome he is making the program.
9. 3 losses to Florida later the fans come to their senses and realize the coach sucks, that it was the bagmen and not the coach that landed the recruits, say they hated the coach from Day 1 and never bought into the hype, and the process repeats at step 1.

Here's how it goes:
1. Rejected by our top candidate (Gruden)
2. None of the big money people agree on candidates 2-25
3. Our AD tries to demonstrate his authority by hiring someone nobody likes
4. Vols fans declare him the savior
5. Tennessee loses to Florida, Georgia, and Alabama again

The OP was pretty good. This is better than the OP because it is from a Vols' fan. Surely you guys will luck into a solid hire eventually.

I don't see why Fuente wouldn't take it considering he has been recruiting around Tennessee
