Saban is going to be on OTL for a long interview soon. SEC released a 3 minute snippet from said interview.

He covers a variety of topics such as:
* He feels he should have 8 titles b/c there were for teams good enough to win, but didn't, so he feels he failed those 4 times.
* No personal rivalries so losing to Meyer didn't hurt worse b/c it was Meyer (calling BS on that one)
* Feels he isn't close to hanging it up
* The loses hurt him far worse than the fans

Nick Saban likely rustling jimmies b/c some of you twist everything he says to fit your agenda. Enjoy.

I'd say 2008, 2013 and maybe 2014, but I don't see 8.

I'm surprised he could say that with a straight face.

Of course he's going to say this -- anything else could potentially negatively affect recruiting. Every coach in his position says this (see Steve Spurrier).

Every coach says this.

So basically it was an interview full of typical cliched coachspeak.

Saban is in tRant's head 24/7. Valid post on appropriate board IMO.

You expected him to say he will retire in two years or something and let everything be about that instead of the season?

The 2010 Bama team is one of the best to never win a championship...and definitely the best 3-loss team ever. That roster was loaded with playmakers AND experience.

Then don't reply to it and let it quickly fall of the page, champ.

It's relevant to all, b/c it covers topics that impact or matter to all.

8 is a tough number to get to, but the three you named get him to 7.

I bet he's talking about 2010. That was his most talented team at Bama. Crazy talented. Crazy deep. That team had the talent to win it all, no doubt.

Or he should have 1 title as he should not have been in the game in 2011 or 2012, Texas was better in 09, and the other years he didn't even have a chance to lose in the championship game because he wasn't able to even make it there.

Two ways to look at that should have..

He might be talking about teams at LSU as well.

agree that there are always two ways to look at it. In 2011 Bama was one of the 2 best teams in the country and the job of the BCS was to pit the 2 best teams against one another for the title. It did what it was intended to do and, while playing by the same rules and in the same system as everyone else, Bama proved to be the best team in the country that year.

Not sure your deal on 2012. Who else would you have put in that game above Alabama? OSU was ineligible and every other team had at least one loss. Bama was the best one loss team.

Texas was not the better team in 2009 and the fact that you think they were is just further proof of your blind hatred of all things Alabama.
