Having students draw a thunderstorm or make one for a project. Using it to reinforce the quote we talk about weekly (its my sig quote actually). Just need some ideas on what to use, crayons, water paint, pastels, etc.

I am the world's worst when it comes to planning art projects.

How old are the students? I understand drawing or painting a thunderstorm. What do you mean by "make a thunderstorm"?

You can do weather shadow boxes with shoe boxes, paint, cotton balls for clouds, blue Saran Wrap for water, etc.

Assuming these kids are of a decent age to even understand the meaning of that quote, I would recommend pastels for a subject like a thunderstorm. It's a great medium for blending colors for the clouds and sky, plus they shouldn't be able to make too much of a mess with them.

If one of them cuts his ear off, then you know you are a good art teacher.
