to shut the TCU crying down. Am I hoping for too much? I wouldn't think TCU had faced a defense like the black bear's d this year.

How has OM done against similar offenses? Not too familiar with TCU except for the fact that they score a lot of points.

Can they pull off the upset?

We're by far the best defense they have played this year. If Good Bo shows up, we should win. I don't know why people are under the impression that they are just going to put up 40-50 points on us. Their offense plays into every strength we have on defense.

I was at the TCU-Baylor game. TCU has a good offense but Baylor's defense is very suspect. Ole Miss or any SEC West team not named Texas A&M could beat TCU on a neutral site. Feels like Bo Wallace and the offense could score some points on them as well, especially if they gave up 61 earlier this year.

Well we've already beaten three 10-win teams (four if Memphis beats BYU) this year. They have beaten no one of note except Kansas State (who didn't beat anyone significant) and Minnesota (same story). They rose up the rankings for beating Oklahoma, something that ended up not being that big of a deal.

Their offense is predicated on beating you with speed, particularly outside. That is where we thrive with our linebackers and DB's. Our defense should have a decent showing and hold them to 20-30 points. Personally, I think State, Alabama and Auburn have better offenses and we did well against two of the three.

Should be a good game.

I wouldn't call it an upset. We don't lose in bowl games.

Our last loss in a bowl game was pre 9-11.

Ole Miss, Bama, and LSU are the best defenses in the country by a pretty hefty distance...so, TCU has definitely not faced an OM caliber defense.

TCU is pretty amazing offensively, but Texas limited them with physical defense and so did Minnesota.

TCU won both games, but didn't blow anyone away with their offensive stats.

Texas is probably the only team TCU faced with a highly athletic defense. Ole Miss is much better defensively, so I wouldn't be surprised to see TCU falter offensively.

TCU is better against the pass than the rush on defense, and Ole Miss isn't really known for their running game.

Ole Miss has a chance to win, but Bo could easily hand TCU the game with a few poorly-timed turnovers against a very good pass defense.

I wonder how motivated TCU will even be for the game. I can imagine they can go one of two ways 1) not care after being left out of the playoffs and get rolled or 2) be very motivated to try to prove to the committee they were wrong. Honestly, with the new formats and the way the bowl system has gone, it's really tough for teams, the way i see it, to care all that much about their bowl game. Generally there is one team in a lot of bowl games that had a huge letdown late in the season and are upset they fell to said bowl.

i would hope #2, i always find that not motivated excuse pathetic. they're playing an sec team that beat bama who is in the playoffs, surely that's ample motivation.

generally, yes, that should be motivation. but when you think you were cheated out of playing for a national title, i can see why a player would not be jacked up to be playing in any bowl game that isn't the CFP

Good QB play and a few big plays and OM could definitely pull the upset. Defense is going to keep them in the game obviously.

There are two possibilities with TCU, and until they play an SEC-level defense, it's really hard to guess which one applies:

1) They're the equivalent of Tark's late '80s/early '90s UNLV basketball. They run away with the bowl game;

or

2) They're the equivalent of Westhead's late '80s/early '90s Loyola Marymount basketball. OM exposes them big-time.

I think Patterson is a great coach and TCU has had an impressive season bu tI like the Rebs in this game.

Like another poster said, OM D matches-up well with TCU's O. I think that will force TCU to play outside their comfort zone and be the difference maker.

Is OM getting any of their injured players back?

I'm hoping TCU wins. I will root for them against any SEC team except LSU. Couple of aunts are alum. Normally I would root for Ole Miss though.
