Well, it's now a race to see who can kill college footbal the fastest:

The NCAA, the Courts, or the schools themselves.

The Longhorns were prepared to give Saban somewhere between a $12 million and $15 million signing bonus and a salary package worth $100 million [plus performance bonuses]."

$8 million per year......

Yet they don't want to give the players an extra stipend.

It's Michigan. They could double that if they wanted to.

Lol... That'd shake things up at Buttsmear. Imagine the $$ UGA would make if UGA was a perrinial power. Folks at Buttssmear can't

Do you consider Michigan a perennial power? I understand they have a storied past...but it's been awhile. Georgia, RIGHT NOW, is much more relevant than Michigan.

I don't think he did. By the way he pays Richt now, he doesn't really seem to care what other coaches are making.

Not entirely... Compared to what Richt made pre BAMA raising the ante to $4m with Saban, the trickle down affect makes it to Athens

Richt was winning the SEC Championship back then......that's why he is on a more incentivized plan now (which I agree with). Only thing funny about the agreement is that if he did win the SEC or MNC, he'd get his bonuses then another raise

Good for them. They want to get their program back on track so they are prepared to throw the kitchen sink at the best guy possible.

Dawgs life, my point was the folks at Buttsmear would be tripping over stacks of $$ if they ever had a run like Bama is on- no matter what it cost to get there. But they'd rather stay "good enough" and keep what $$ they have. Penny wise/ pound foolish.

McGarity thinks...

But then he opened up his vault and jumped off the high dive into his ocean of money a la Scrooge McDuck.

I like how the general consensus is that richt is a bargain bin coach

Like opting for the silver package

I think this is a fair assessment. In comparing our situation to stock market investment, our investors are definitely conservative/risk averse.
