I agree with the OP to a point. Obviously if Quinn makes one third down catch( he should have made both) LSU probably wins. The difference to me is that BAMA has some balance on offense.
Sims is a good college QB...not tremendous...but good.

We have worst QB in the SEC, and Simms has been a lot better than anyone thought he would be. That really is the difference and why guys are going to the playoff and we are going to some shite bowl. Plus Satan is may better than Les.

UGA game aside our offense has played much better in "recent games" than it was the first half of the season.
LSU is terrible and you are scared because they had you beat and if LSU can beat you anyone can beat you.

Randy, your offense has sputtered around lately, stupid penalties and turnovers have killed AU in the latter part of the season.

IMO, the HUNH somewhat prevents a team from consitantly having a strong run stuffing defense. My thinking is not based on personel, but more on the fact/opinion that going against the HUNH every day in practice tends to teach a more front-butt defensive mentality.

Upvote, that has always been my assertions as well.
Texas High School and the Tejas Colleges, as an entire state, is prime example. 7-on-7 flag camp diseased state, lots of talent, yet never plays well as a unit together. I think it's warped that state from the bottom up. Strong more so than Sumlin is the one that could maybe toughen the state back up.
All the other schools besides the Horns had to go to it, to gadget the programs into winning ways. But, it's not gonna win you Natty hardware, unless with a rare team(2005 Horns) that's loaded to the gills. And still required beating a finesse west coaster in USC to blow 11 pt lead with but 4 minutes and change left by not a single run play there forth.
You can't toughen up all of sudden..can't win a 'Calluses Game' when you don't already wear em coming in!

Maybe, but if our offense is that good, you just need a defense that is pretty good and not elite.
I think Ole Miss had a really good defense this year, as an example.

Ole Miss had a great one, until LSU gm, when their lack of size and depth and injury set in, and as the heart of the schedule wore on, with Aub wearing them down(knew LSU softened em up, but would've loved UM vs Aub if not for the injuries, which I think were the difference in victory..didn't bet the gm),etc..
Ole Miss was a legit Natty Title contender, but size in the front 4 and front 7 on D, plus depth, wear-tear, squeezed the momentum out of their entire team, the O started sputtering after the LSU game as well.
Vegas had UM as co-chalk for the Natty Title the week leading into UM-LSU, and they weren't wrong to have them such.
P.S. As for HUNH/Spread, I think it screws with many Defensive players mindsets and psyches, in thinking that the O will always have their backs. Softens em up to working too often from a being bailed out mentality.

No disrespect intended, but I don't think HUNH's are elite on any level. HUNH's simply take advantage of not giving defenses time to make their calls. Gimick O's such as these will have short lived success as adjustments are made by pro-style programs like LSU/Bama. The end is near my friend.

I thinks this is a pretty spot on assessment of LSU. Shitty QB play has been a staple of LSU's offense over the last few seasons (excluding 2013). We've been winning games in spite of our QB. Sims at one point had one of the highest QB ratings in the country, meanwhile Jennings has a sub 50% conpletion percentage. Pretty easy to spot the difference between our 2 teams.

5th year senior vs Freshman...These two may be ~ equal in talent. Although Blake doesn't have a ton of playing time, he does have the advantage of time is his system. Jennings however has been thrown into the fire pretty much bare assed. (simmer down aggie)
