Agreed. 'Bama's QB is one of the 3 best in the league. If 'Bama had LSU's secondary they'd be undefeated IMO. The Tiger's will not lose any home games next year. The game in Tuscaloosa next November will be for the Division title.

I honestly think that Bama has successfully separated themselves a bit above LSU at this point. Better coaching and more discipline from the players. LSU is still close but, we need to improve in a few areas to compete equally with Bama.

Enjoy the run Bama because it won't last forever. I also predict that Bama wins the National Championship this year.

Very nice post. But while Alabama maybe isn't as dominant as the last 3 yrs, they are playing outstanding football. Saban has by and large done a masterful job this season. LSU and Miles have done a "good" job.

Although both teams are a bit down this year,

A down year for LSU is going 8-4, 4-4 in the SEC.

A down year for Alabama is being ranked #1 with a 10-1 record, 6-1 in the SEC.

I respectfully disagree. No program and coach have been as competitive with Bama and Saban since 2007.

Saban is 6-3 against Miles, but all but 2 of those 9 games came down to the final minute, several in the final seconds.
Miles could just as easily be 6-3 against Saban.
Now, that's not to say that Miles has been outcoached AT TIMES. e.g. 2012 - when he should have gone for a first down, and we missed the FG, and playing a soft defense and allowing Bama receivers to get out of bounds.
Ditto 2014 - when Miles should have challenged the Cooper trapped reception on the tying FG drive. Even the announcers said the ball was moving. Also, Saban knows how to use his timeouts, Miles does not sometimes.

Miles is also competitive with Saban recruiting-wise, landing several Top 5 classes in his tenure.

To be fair, they are having a mini-run on us, but we had a big run on them.
From 2000-2011, LSU went 9-3 against Bama, including 5 in a row and 7 of the first 8.

I agree mostly. Again, I'm not cracking on LSU's QB but a better performing, more mature on field leader takes care of those things naturally.

Saban has had his less than perfect moments. Remember the close of the first half of the Bama/Georgia SECCG.

LSU's QB

We could write a novel on this issue. The bottom line is that LSU's succession of QB's has been screwed up for a few years. Assuming that Jennings and Harris can develop into great QB's and we can start recruiting quality QB's yearly and actually keep them at LSU for their college career, we can solve this problem.

I'm very much in the minority but, I think that Jennings will develop into a quality QB next year. Harris (if he stays at LSU) will be exceptional when he gets his turn.

Maybe I should have said, Saban knows how to use his timeouts against LSU

I think Les's mistake is playing QB's that are to young. Saban's QB's seem to always have at least two years in the system before becomming the starter. Wouldn't you agree?

Ironically, LSU had the game won with NO QB and offense.....coaching wasn't that bad, actually.

That was my point. LSU has had lots of QB's wash out or transfer over the past 5-6 years. Some of this has to do with the style of offense that most high school teams play in Louisiana (spread) while LSU plays a pro set offense. A square peg in a round hole.

If LSU can manage not to lose many underclassmen in this off season, we should be a much improved team next year. It is also a far better schedule next year.

I suspect that Bama loses Landon Collins which will hurt your defense quite a bit. That guy has been a thorn in our side.
