This game was just amazing. But it certainly wasn't pretty. But a win is a win. I didn't think we would blow them out like a lot of people predicted, but I certainly didn't see us having to rally like we did either. But a win in this way is good for our team. It gives us valuable experience to play under pressure, play WELL under pressure, and that is it is a 4-qtr game. It gives us character that will help us down the road whenever we get in dogfight again against possibly more formidable opponents.

Give arky credit, they played physical inspired football. They had a game plan that was effective and pretty much took us out of rhythm for a whole half and then some. The fake punt was a perfect call and extremely well executed. The look on my face was one in terror sprinkled in with a little amusement and admiration. Some on the rant say they should have won but the penalties took that away. I don't think that was true because we also had ample opportunities to score and we shot ourselves in the foot as well. We didn't match their intensity in the front 7 but luckily for us, when the 2nd half started it got better and better.

Three good things for us:

1) Kenny Hill never lost his composure. Arkansas pretty much dared him to beat them over the top and he misfired many times. Underthrew Reynolds for an INT, overthrew a couple others. But he got it on track and was way more accurate in the 2nd half.

2) Ed Pope was our MVP. He was the only guy to catch everything and he got the most desperation out of all our receivers.

3) Play of the game was the Howard Matthews pass deflection on a third down late in the 4th. For a guy who got roasted all of last season primarily for this situation, he came thru BIG. It snuffed out that drive, we got to OT and win the game.

There are negatives too but I don't want to rant about it. I just want to enjoy this win and get ready to BTHO those Mississippi teams coming up.

I gotchu

And I agree with your OP. Helluva win in so many ways. Hopefully we can build on it from here.

I think Sumlin is the right man for that job.

Oh, btw, I can't wait for The Pulse this week!

Still doesn't make up for him quitting on a route last year vs Bama

wait, wat? I'm sure you mean Jaquay. Pope made the impossible catch on Johnny's spin and just chuck it down field. Pope didn't play a lot otherwise

That was Jaquay Williams. Ed Pope caught the bailout pass from Manziel.
