And here's some bonus pics from last season. Hope I get another pic of this guy this year.
College football and deer season. Easily my favorite time of year. Can't wait.

Got pretty good 2 ' s and main beam length. He's pretty streamline though. I'd say 3.5 maybe 4.5 depending on where you're at.

I'd say he's 3.5 just judging by the bucks on the land we've been leasing for years here in East Tennessee. Body size doesn't look 4.5 yet but they look different in the offseason so it can be hard to tell. You're right about the G2s and main beams though. Good genes

Damn skippy.
I should have some pix here in the next few weeks. I'm excited to see what stuck around and what new buck have came around.
I just got the dates for my bear hunt this winter. I'm heading to coastal N.C. mid December to run some blackies with dogs. I'm jacked.

Popping my cherry o. This one. They've all but guaranteed us two dead bears the first day. The other two days will be spent drinking whiskey and telling lies about penis size. Typical hunting camp stuff.

it's a tough call on the first buck... think I'd have to let him walk.
the second buck in the black and white photo would be dropped though.
Good nutrition and genes going around it seems.

I'd have a tough time letting him walk but I think I'd have to. Give him another year for sure.

With the quickness.

quote:Yep, very tough. He's still in velvet so he could grow a little more mass between now and September but I've got a good 7 and 9 pt on the wall so he'd have to be a monster 8 to drop him. If I was on public land or a drawn hunt then I'd shoot him all day.

2nd buck I'd shoot at if I saw him 500 yds away.

Yep. Good lookin deer, sir. Never been up in that part of Tennessee. What kind of land are you on? Is it all bottoms? Planting any plots?

Thanks
It's White Oak mountain range that stretches from South to East Tennessee. We lease about 700 acres that has a few fields with plots down in the bottom (mostly soy bean but not much luck beside does/small bucks) and a 4-wheeler trail that goes to the top of the mountain where we hunt during the rut.
These pics are about a 1/4 of the way up the mountain. It's a heavy trail with a water hole that we put a salt lick next to each year and we usually get good pics during the offseason.
