Heard Wimp Sanderson on the radio last week talking about the recruitment of Charles Barkley and Bobby Lee Hurt in the 80s. He had the Host screaming with his stories. One made the comment that the SECN needs to have ex-coaches from the SEC host some shows. Wimps response was " the SEC Network doesn't want any older folks on air".

After watching the SECN Football coverage I think that is one of their biggest problems. The commentators for the most part played the last 5-7 years. Their perspective of the SEC doesn't go beyond 2006 and people like Finebaum will agree with whatever is popular at this moment. I hope the SECN realizes who their demographics are before they blow this opportunity.

I really don't care to hear from any old coaches.

I think Nutt would be great on the SECN.

Holtz and Corso are bad on ESPN. Wimp, Dye and Stallings are awful on radio and would be worse on tv. Who do you suggest to bring the coveted geriatric demographic?

They gotta have eye candy for on air talent. Thats why they have the young folks on there. McElroy and Tebow, etc will be replaced with younger talent when they have bust sport careers.

-Go Badgers!

That's a good point. I haven't even considered that, but the only gum bumper show I have watched so far is the one with Tebow, finebaum, the LSU DL (can't think of his name) and Joe Tessitore (who's voice is like fingernails on a chalk board to me)

The SECN needs a show called the David Housel Hour. Would be epic.

Doesn't have to be just former coaches, but somebody like Archie Manning or Chris Collinworth or even Charles Barkley. The problem with the current group is they are trying to be relevant without being controversial. Where is Mr College Football Tony Barnhart ?

They've been on air for 4 days.

Good suggestions, but those guys have bigger and better gigs. Got to find the next Barkley or Archie.

Is that Booger in the studio? I honestly had no idea. I was pretty imressed with him, except for the fact he is such an LSU homer.

ETA: the re-play is on now. It's not Booger, it's Spears.

Agreed

BTW, do you know any of the Irons?

I know all of them, but a couple of them very well.
