LSU has 6 or 7 guys that inexplicably aren't in the CFBHOF for some unknown reason and looking at the list it seems like a lot of SEC schools are lagging behind. Even Alabama, who has 20. That may sound like a lot but Notre Dame has FOURTY FOUR inductees. Yale and Army have 24, Princeton has 21 and Navy has 20. I know those teams were real good way back in the day but come on, they haven't done anything for 50-60 years at least. More like 70-80 years for the ivies.

Tennessee and Bama are the only 2 SEC schools even in the top TWENTY in terms of enshrines. Considering we have 6 of the top 12 or 13 best programs in college football history this is beyond ridiculous.

It's in Atlanta now & times are a changing so that wrong will be righted in the long haul...

ETA:... Can't believe the B1G let us move it to the South without a fight. Atlanta has apparently become the center of the CFB world...

i'm talking about guys from back in the day more than upcoming players.

For LSU you look at the resume of a Mike Anderson or Warren Capone or more recently Kevin Faulk and compare it to some of the guys who did get in and it's just stupid. I'm sure every SEC schools have some of these. isn't Derrick Thomas not in the CFBHOF??

I agree that there are plenty from way back when that deserve to be there. UGA players currently in the HoF include:

Bob McWhorter (1910s)
Frank Sinkwich (1940s)
Charley Trippi (1940s)
Vernon "Catfish" Smith (1920s)
Bill Hartman (1930s)
Fran Tarkenton (1950s)
Bill Stanfill (1960s)
Herschel Walker (1980s)
Terry Hoage (1980s)
Kevin Butler (1980s)
John Rauch (1940s)
Jake Scott (1960s)

In addition to Pollack (2000s) and Matt Stinchcomb (1990s) from the recent era, I think guys like Joe Bennett (1920s), Zeke Bratkowski (1950s), Tommy Lyons (1960s), Edgar Chandler (1960s), Royce Smith (1970s), Scott Woerner (1970s), Jeff Sanchez (1980s), Champ Bailey (1990s), Garrison Hearst (1990s), Eric Zeier (1990s), David Greene (2000s), Drew Butler (2000s), Jarvis Jones (2010s), and Aaron Murray (2010s) deserve to be or eventually will make it in.

A result of biased Yankee opinions and voting back in the day. (See CFB final polls of '66.)

Remember, the SEC's reign of terror is still pretty fresh. There'll be plenty of representation in the coming years.

pretty sure he would have made it even if he had never come back and you don't get inducted "as" a member of a particular team FYI FWIW GFY

Yes...see those polls.

A result of playing "white football" for many many decades.

You will see an influx of SEC players from the 80's and 90's and 2000's elected to the CFB HOF soon...

But you killed yourselves in the late 50's and 60's/early 70's after everyone else was fully integrated...during that last hold-out country-club football.

And only Army stands-out as being an anomaly in the Top 5 - given the full history of the game...

The rest of the Top 5 make absolute sense in the 100 year history, # of All-Americans and Heismans...Notre Dame, USC, Michigan and Ohio State.

Notre Dame has the most All-Americans in history followed by USC and Ohio State.

And it's not just ancient history...

The most All-Americans by school since 1965-present...

1. USC
2. Oklahoma
3. Ohio State
4. Notre Dame

5. Nebraska
6. Texas
7. Michigan
8. Alabama
9. Miami
10. Florida State

So it's not like the SEC is dominating the Top 10.

For most of the 20th century Southern teams were ignored and actively discriminated against when it came to national polls and awards, mostly in favor or northeastern type teams.

Heck it still continued into recent times, look no further than the Charles Woodson/Peyton Manning Heisman crap.

It's really only within the past 15-20 years the SEC has gotten a fair shake and the SEC had to earn it by domination.

yeah, not. The SEC was jilted even in the days when EVERYONE playing big time football was segregated.

The fact that Derrick Thomas was just inducted into the CFBHOF should tell you that it is a joke.

While I am obviously glad we are past segregation, I feel like football and politics should be kept separate.

Isn't politics. It's racism.
