At least you can take a commercial flight to the Starkville area, via ATL. Two new hotels coming, including a Courtyard by Marriott on campus.

In the mid-80s when I was a student at State, I knew the owner of the Bulldog Package Store and he would sell me cold beer he kept in an ice machine.

I will hopefully be opening up my Bumper-Boats attraction in Starkville before the 2015 season.

Beautiful in the spring. Flowers and landscaping are great, people are nice, weather is nice. Just a great, quaint college town. Some great restaurants too.
J/k of course, it's pretty terrible.

Not bad. Not great. If you get drunk what difference does it make?

Has improved drastically over the last 10 years. The current mayor was student body president at MSU, went to grad school at UNC and came back and won the mayoral ship at 26 years old. He's probably early 30s now and has really strengthened the relationship between the city and the university that was completely fractured by the good ol boys that ran Starkville for 100 years.
When I was in college there in the 90s, it earned its name. Nothing to do, no bar scene, only a couple of restaurants.
Now, its a quaint small town with an SEC university attached. It reminds me of a Southern version of the New England college towns. There's still areas that look rough though. The university is underrated because Ole Miss is so damn pretty. State has a nice campus as well. Same way with the girls. Might not find as many 10s as you do in Oxford, but there's a shitload of 8s that aren't always bat shite crazy.
Restaurant scene is really good. There are some damn fine restaurants in Starkville. If you are the type of fan that comes in and sees Alabama and eats at Hardees, you'll hate it. But if you want to enjoy the Cotton District, grab a great steak at the Veranda or Restaurant Tyler, you'll enjoy it.
People that shite on Starkville constantly usually have not been there or are the variety of fan that doesn't know how to have a good time.
