How can you enforce a trademark on a sound though?

I'm not questioning the validity by any means...just unsure how they can enforce it if someone calls the hogs for something else.

Why do you need to trademark something that everyone else laughs at you for doing?

I can't decide which is more embarrassing, the hog call or male cheerleaders.

Yes and it became an issue for the Japanese manufacturers who were trying to copy it.

Smart move. I'd say everybody was after it, with it being so awesome and all.

Woo pig.

So if someone records a video of a lion roaring and posts it on youtube, MGM will come after them?

That makes more sense.

So if a children's program has a character that goes

WOOOOOOOOOOO

KA-BLOOEY

would that be a trademark violation?

Probably not, becuase there isn't any confusion as to source. I'm not getting a cartoon confused with arky (well they're both jokes).

But a pro or highschool football team couldn't start doing that without permission.

It's smart because someone could trademark it themselves (without actually using it) then sue the University of Arkansas if they used it in something official.
