Hell, he won the PAC 12 his last year at UCLA.

He's a very good coach, his resume speaks for itself.

And he was fired anyway.

He didn't quit, he didn't move on to another job, he was fired.

One man's trash, I guess.

I agree with ya. Howland would be a tremendous hire. He has to keep his nose clean though. I will be very surprised if Alden hires him, but would definitely welcome it.

The only hire out there that would excite the fanbase from the get go though is Marshall, and Mizzou definitely needs a flood of adrenaline pumped in. Howland could give that with some good years right off the bat.

Sure he was fired, after winning the conference. Pretty obvious it was not for performance.

You say that like it's a good thing.

But he's not in trouble with the NCAA and never has been.
He's in roughly the same place Haith was when he came to Mizzou with respect to the NCAA.

Exactly my thoughts. It's not problems with the NCAA that I'd be worried about. It's the character of the man that I'd be worried about.

When you watch a game of the team with the guy who followed a coach and the commentators have to brag about how the new coach has "cleaned up the program", that isn't usually a coach I would want...

He get a thug on the team and wouldn't dismiss him, or even discipline him. Other players left and that's when he stopped going to final fours.

It's reasonable to think he could have learned his lesson from that.

If he rehabs at mizzou and does great how likely is he to want to move on?

Ben Howland......H to the ELL no. No w....izay ya gots to feel me.

Again as a fan I would suck it up but he should be dead last on the list and the last one your reach out too. If he calls, you tell him the gig is in a holding pattern and we will contact him when there is an opening

Just saying, if you go in knowing you're hiring someone of questionable character, don't act surprised when it comes back to bite you in the arse.

Or if your program has problems, do not hire a coach who had the same problems elsewhere...

I don't understand why we don't just settle for Krzyzewski
