If you watch the video it sounds like the defensive staff didn't put a whole lot of thought into the awards and that they're pretty meaningless

Sure, it's just an interview, but I like how Pruitt 1) admits he's not satisfied with where they are at 2) says he still doesn't know who needs to start (idk, I think he does but wants to continue to emphasize to the players that no one is safe and they are really gonna have to work for it) and my favorite 3) how he keeps calling out the team to lose some weight.

Actually, my favorite part may be when he said he didn't want to give any awards

He's pretty damn no nonsense and he's right on about how he doesn't wanna treat the defense like a "t ball team that everyone gets awards"

I love the line about how it's like t-ball, and everyone wants a fricking trophy.

Love it.

You can tell that he is genuinely never satisfied which is great. Nobody is safe so you better work

It's about fricking time... I'm sick of mediocrity. I'm behind his attitude 100%. frick em all until they earn their spot. frick awards, screw you fatty, lose weight, time to gain some muscle son, you won a spring award? Cute, let's see if you play in the fall.

Gotta push these kids to be the best. We recruit with the best, it's time we coach them to be just that.

I'm on board the Pruitt wagon. Been a long time since I was excited for a new coach hire. This dude has a chance to really prove himself. Something he has yet to do, imho.

Spring is when homerism is at its highest. Love the attitude, but we have yet to see a result. I'm optimistic, but I can't say I love a coach based on the Spring.

It's his first year... He doesn't have to sell his results yet... In year 3, he will...

Too bad y'all are not girls. Your panties would drop pretty easily...

He's just talking. His talk means nothing. A player isn't going to be demotivated by winning an award. I think the awards are stupid, but they are harmless.

The point is that nothing is achieved in spring.
No goal has been met. No accomplishment has been reached.

Preseason #1 should be a 4 letter word.
The work for 2014 is just beginning.

Pruitt is exactly right.
Will his attitude yield any difference in our results? Who knows.
But it's better to keep pushing in April (and hold off on the pats on the back until they actually accomplish something) than not.

No... In year three of his tenure, the defense sucks in spring... It's on him and he will spin it... Now, he has some rope and is using it...

Just let me put the tip in for a second baby...
