400 yards of total offense and 22 first downs wasn’t exactly smothering the Vols offense. Georgia forced two turnovers and turned them over on fourth down twice so give credit where credit is due but UT did pretty well on offense

I keep looking up at his post and I don't see where he said we smothered their offense.

I did see, however, multiple Tennessee and Bama fans predict we would be beaten or that the game would be close.

We were also told that our defense was way overrated and points were in coming in a bigly way?

I'm sure you would like to address those points, too, instead of putting words into the mouth of the OP?

Just curious, who is the best offense Georgia has faced?

The Rant says we haven't faced one, yet.

Who is the best defense OSU has faced?
I am guessing Nebraska since they held you to your lowest point total? Or Oregon, maybe?

Reminder that the Vols only scored 14 on Grantham and Muffin.

Coming into the game, UT was averaging 36 ppg vs SEC opponents. UT had a starter out. UGA defense had two starters out and lost two more through the course of the game. UT was held to 17 points, less than half of their SEC average.

That's the fewest anyone gave up this season to UT. But yall got UT at home, if we had them at home I think a shutout is a reasonable proposition.

I agree. And it doesn't take away for UGA's historic defense.

Some, yes. Not all. It was about half and half on defense.

You mean the 9 guys that were suffering from the stomach virus? I don't think it unreasonable to think going against a hurry up offense and having lost a ton of fluids that they might have been depleted.

Pretty sure we had at least 4 defensive players that played little to none in the 4th quarter.

Vols could have scored 3 touchdowns at that point and still lost by 10.
That last touchdown was totally irrelevant to the game's outcome...thus "garbage time".

The only way Georgia loses to Alabama is if they play the same way they did, on defense, against Tennessee in the first quarter. The dreaded "rush three, drop eight".

Once Georgia started bringing an extra linebacker - that game was over. Georgia, like every other team in the country on defense, beats themselves when they play "not to give up the big play" rather than "get off the field".

We'll see if Georgia's staff learned their lesson.

Georgia's defense fared about the same against the Vols as Alabama's did a couple of weeks ago.

If you watched both games and still say this then you are a fricking retard.

I would actually say it's Penn State and not very close. PSU has a good amount of talent on it's team especially its back 7.

No one OSU has played is near to UGA but I think UGA fans would agree the same about the offenses they are playing. OSU is on its way to potentially having 3 1000 yard receivers and already has a 1,000 rusher. The QB is the new heisman odds leader.

I would love to see that game but we all have watched enough CFB to know how these hypotheticals often end up not happening
