All of the Manning’s will be at this game vs LSU to retire Eli’s jersey. Will be a big to do, lots of festivities. They picked this home game this year with LSU to do so. Not a home game with Ala last year or next year, when they know Ole Miss will get crushed.

Well, I'll do my best. See, Ole Miss would never try to embarrass Eli on jersey retirement night when the gold standard, the 18-time national champion, BAMA, comes to town. The whole point is to have a gala affair, and a competitive game and not be destroyed by a Crimson Tide tree shredding machine with 28 SEC titles in its back pocket.
So to summarize: By scheduling LSU, there's hope, which is a good thing. With BAMA, just more pain, and disappointment.

Ole Miss scheduled said festivities before they knew LSU would be a dumpster fire. Not sure they were looking for an easy win. That part just fell in their lap.
