Basically they're working for commission.

Per co-owners Josh West and Nick Weaver, each player who signs a deal will get a pair of custom-made jeans — which usually sell for $450-$500 a pair — in exchange for social media posts promoting the product. Each player will receive $100 for each pair of jeans he sells.
So far, 33 players on the team have signed contracts, and 44 have been fitted for jeans, according to co-owner and COO Nick Weaver.

I'm assuming each pair comes with a complementary gold nugget.

And apparently at least 20% of that price goes towards nothing but marketing.

Yes. I realize the only products you ever see are at Walmart but this is pretty typical.

True, shows how stupid the American consumer is.

This is more like a job than an endorsement deal
They’re salesmen making commission on each pair

Smart deal for a smaller company. Give them your merch to walk around campus in and there's more than a handful of rich kids that can afford those.

I have a pair (did not pay for them) and I love them but probably wouldn't ever buy any for myself.
