seems that Arkansas has surpassed LSU in the Ole Miss rivalry minds

It's been the weirdest game of the year for a while. I don't consider Arky a rival. Never have. Never paid any attention to them until Ole Miss hired Nutt and ever since then they've taken a shine to us.

Both fan bases are now firmly on the frick Houston Nutt wagon

I think Ole Miss could've been decent with O

O was a great recruiter. We had to take a lot of marginal players and remember a lot not making it on campus or past freshman year for off the field issues. Great recruiter but he couldn't get the right coordinators or refrain from micromanaging play calling. He tried to do too much and wasn't equipped to handle it. It's easy to say now but I really don't think he could of ever gotten out of the rut at OM.

Yeah it's definitely possible that he could have gotten Ole Miss "decent". And specifically "decent". He built a solid team but just needed a good quarterback. We never got a chance to see what he could have done with that team.

That being said I don't think we win 9 games in 2008 with O. But I don't see us winning 2 games a few years later with him either.

I remember reading that Orgeron at OM would have a 150-play scrimmage on Thursdays. If true, just cutting that out would have made OM better.
