Offer one of them what Bianco is making right now.
I was one of the few that really wanted him gone long ago, but my initial reaction to this thread was that we need the let the season play out (baseball is a weird sport and we could get hot late). But those salaries above pretty much mean we should be guaranteed to be able to upgrade.

Bianco is a classic victim of his own success. Bianco is an lsu alum, and we don’t even care to bother trying to poach him
Just let LSU have McDonnell and ole miss is welcome to go after whoever

I'm not sure I am 100% onboard with this..yet. However, Bianco's lack of bunting, especially after we lost our #1 run producer, is beyond frustrating. We clearly are not clutch enough to win games, so let's do some things that will get runners in scoring position more often. It is baseball 101.

Agree..it’s absurd that we don’t/can’t bunt in certain obvious situations

Cheap? We bought out Andy Kennedy with Valour jumpsuits and Jordan 11s

I will actively go to Louisville baseball games the rest of this year, sitting behind Louisville's dugout and yell at McDonnel "Come home to Oxford Dan! Leave this shithole! Ole Miss will pay you more! We have hotter women! And Ajax!"
Fun fact: I spoke to McDonnell once and dude loves him some Old Venice

Saw where Bianco had his 900th win today. Were we making “fire bianco” type threads the year we made the CWS? Just curious. This tough because we are top 15 every year, but can’t get it done in the post season. We’d kill for that caliber of consistency in basketball or football. But the disappointment in baseball every single year is just brutal because we always lay an egg in the post season. It’s hard to imagining firing Bianco given our lack of success in pretty much all sports. Ideal scenario is he retires and we don’t have to fire him

I think it has to do with having top 5 recruiting classes but can’t ever get over the hump.

The Ole Miss fan base has had a quick trigger for a long time. There were numerous instances where people said “Fire AK” or “Fire Cutcliffe,” whether or not those coaches deserved it.
Our biggest thing with Bianco is that he hasn’t progressed since he finally broke through to the CWS. Since then, the closest we have been was in 2019 against Arkansas in the super regional - we were out scored 25-3 in the two games we lost and 30-16 total in the series.
This season was a “show me” type of year. We knew we had some of the best talent in the entire country before the year, so the onus was on Bianco to put it together and return to the CWS.
If the postseason ended today, I think we can all agree that making the CWS wouldn’t be likely. If Bianco can’t take a team as talented as the one we have this year (disclaimer - we have had more talented teams than this) and get back to the big one, when will he?

Runner on 2nd with 2 outs turns into a grand slam... only we could make that kinda magic happen

Frizzle drove in all 6 runs today. We let one guy beat us... we were up 3 I say walk in a run,
Posted on 5/9/21 at 5:37 pm to Ole Colonel 27
Well, hindsight is certainly 20/20 on walking in a run now, but it would sure as hell have been better than what happened. The real killer was Broadway walking two before that. He had walked 6 all year long. Then in the 8th we load 'em up and do nothing against sorry arse A&M. But let's make no mistake about it boys, we are just above average for a number of reasons. Teams get hot and go on rolls, but there's no reason to believe we have that in us at this point. I hope they prove me wrong.

Maybe after the first 2 games Bianco should have thought about walking that guy.

Oh I'm sure he "thought about it" but his ego is too big for him to make a move like that. He doesn't think any coach he faces has the knowledge he does. He just got "chessed" while making a checkers move with our batting order in the 8th.
