UT is doing what they need to do. No series losses vs a middling OOC. The first opportunity to play a conference opponent, you took the series. it might not be as bad as you think. As a bonus, you avoid Ole Miss & Mississippi St this year. You may have the easiest conference schedule out of anyone.

One bad inning separating Arky from Vandy, but it will all get settled. Baseball season is a marathon.

I see Tennessee as a bottom mid tier SEC team that hasn’t played anybody above average yet. They have some really good pieces but lack overall consistency at times. Last years team was special but this years team is not.

What do you think the main reason this is besides the loss of those two bats?

Youth and no team leadership. Unsettled lineup, lost more than 2 bats.

Good. Being ranked #1 just means programs like OU pitch their ace on Tuesday nights. frick a target this early in the year.

Arkansas has lost 3 of their last 5. Lucky to be in top 10.

Have yet to lose a weekend series and have likely the most impressive resume so far this baseball season.

LOL @ being lucky to be in the top 10.

That's ridiculous. Last Sunday's loss was factored into last weeks rankings, so you can't factor it in to this weeks rankings. Mid-week games don't matter. They took 2-3 this weekend vs Alabama, who is a good team. It was more a matter of people moving Vandy up rather than Arkansas down.

If anything factored in a little, it may have been how bad the loss was on Friday, since that is normally vs your best pitcher. Arkansas can lose 2/3 this weekend and not fall out of the top 10, and possibly not even fall out of the top 5.

OU threw their ace while Arkansas threw 11 pitchers.

I agree with your take, btw. Oklahoma saw Tuesdays game as a must win type of game, while DVH viewed it as trying to get guys innings to see who he could rely on going forward.

I don't know about all that, I just know that mid-week games don't matter very much at all. At least they haven't in the past. I think it is a time for coaches to see what some of their young pitchers can do with live fire.

They lost their ace pitcher, #11 overall pick Garrett Croche. They lost their 2 best bats, 2nd round draft pick, Alerick Soularie, and 3rd round draft pick, Zach Daniels. Tennessee got hit harder by the small draft than arguably anyone in the SEC.

I hate saying it, but I think Ole Miss is way too high right now in these polls. Until we can get consistent at the plate, we aren't a top 10 team.

Bianco is still playing with the line up. My fear is that like other good ole miss teams, we will be too streaky and end up streaky at the wrong time.

Everyone has issues right now, even Vandy. There will be lots of shuffling as the season goes along. There is nothing you can do if your team gets cold at the wrong time. It has happened to some of the best Florida teams including 2018.
