Guy had 40 ints vs 31 tds.
Ole Miss finished in the SEC with him as starter
1968 5th
1969 5th
1970 4th
Only 10 teams back then.
Plus remember Alabama was way down during this era.
Lost to Miss State his senior year. Lost to LSU by 44 his senior year.
Record in 3 years to Miss State 1-1-1.
Never beat Auburn.
Outside of beating Tennessee in 1969 what did Ole Miss/Manning do from 1968-1970 to have your own speed limit on campus.

He was the entire team and did things nobody matched until Johnny Football broke his record 40 years later. This thread is obviously a troll thread.

For Ole Miss, it's the pinnacle of the Walk of Champions along with the 2003 Co Western Division Championship.
His greatest college accomplishment was indeed losing to Alabama as that's the only game ever brought up when remembering Manning.

Like saying Pete Maravich was overrated. Great players, sucky teams. One man can't do it all in team sports. Manning was running for his life most of his career.

Don’t forget about his rushing yds, he was 9th in the SEC in rushing & led the league in rushing TDs in ‘69 during his MVP season. Unfortunately he broke his arm his senior season, his numbers would certainly have been greater. He was a heck of an athlete & QB

He was the #2 overall NFL draft pick and 4th in Heisman vote, so someone didn't think he was overrated

If anything he's one of the most underrated. Ole Miss' defense was awful in 1968 and he won 7 games.Only Houston really handed it to them in 69. Ole Miss was as good as any team--- Texas,Southern California or Ohio State at the end of the year.

If true, I'm convinced. I'm guessing it's a big fish in a small pond situation?

He didn't play in their loss to State in 1970. He was not on Ole Miss' punt team that gave up 3 tds vs LSU.

He was the only good player they had. It was a miracle and testament to his will that they won any games. Guy was a great individual player on a terrible team.

Your troll of Archie Manning sucks, because you can't troll Archie. Everyone knows how great of an athlete he was; legendary with two sons who won suberbowls. Get new material.

1970 LSU was the 2nd or 3rd best team in America at the end of the year when the two teams played, and was avenging a close loss in 1969 that kept them from the SEC title and possibly a national title, FWIW.
LSU was really fricking good from 1969-1971.

That would be Tebow. Guy was a FB playing QB. Had absolute terrible throwing mechanics.

The whole manning family is overrated imo. Tremendous athletes, but they are not the family of football. 1 Brady is better than the whole family.
