Anything goes for at least until January visits start happening. I think it’s disingenuous to assign last year’s class to Harsin or Gus. Anyone with common sense should agree. Gus was a lame duck and Harsin was hired after 80% or more of kids signed.

This class obviously lacked high end talent. There’s obvious reasons for that and it’s obvious that this class can only be a starting point if the coaches are interested in competing every year for conference championships.

It’s also worth pointing out that Gus wasn’t fired for his recruiting ranking. They were generally good. They were also not “great” but we expected classes within the 7-12 range with him. There’s holes in every class but his were routinely the OL. Sometimes QB and WR.

All this to say, anyone showing numbers based on 7 seasons of Gus and 1 of Harsin are using the sample size differences to make the point they want to make and anyone should be cautious.

He’s not very quick and has okay speed, but his hands and catch radius appear to be elite.

He better be quick enough to separate from dbs if he is going to get open on pass routes.

A lot this fanbase is broken from the last decade of receivers only getting separation with speed.

Lots of ways to separate from DBs He’s not slow. Just won’t be Schwartz

He is a lot like Seth Williams but appears to possibly have better hands or better catching contested balls. Those type WRs serve a big purpose in the offense. I don’t think he is slow he’s just not a burner. He appears he can also put on 10-15 lbs of muscle and never know what might happen with his quick twitch muscle fibers.

I agree. He used his body to get open. That is an underrated art.

Coach Malzahn often brought in a bunch of highly rated ATHs, which doesn’t really serve much purpose other than boosting recruiting rankings if you can’t develop those guys, and we all know he was terrible at doing that.

ATH doesn’t necessarily mean you’re raw. Can mean you can play multiple positions at the college level

I wonder if we look for a S in the portal now too. Gilbert should help some, but Puckett and Kaufman weren't exactly impressive last year and at worst out depth just took a hit (though I think Harvey had a good chance to start next year).
