I’m curious to see if UGA can utilize them and win championships

We had a generational QB with Manziel but did not have the talent around him to take advantage.

Johnny Football's last season you had 3 players that were drafted in the first round. 6 Aggie players were drafted in Johnny's first year in 2012 with Luke Joeckel, again going in the first round. Not sure why Aggies are in denial about the talent that was in College Station during Manziels short stay?

JT Daniels was a 5* player? Really ...

The amount of 5* players on UGA and Bama is something that A&M cannot come close to matching. We have a lot more 4*'s than we used to but not even a third of the 5*'s. And most of our talent is from the 2019 class and beyond ...

So, yeah, every single one of those 5-stars either starts or contributes. They were just really young.

Hell to the No, Dawg fan. Nobody cares who starts for you. Who does that make you? Those stars and that roster gets measured by the only stick that matters in college football. Playoffs and championships.

Now, whatcha got?

At the end of the year that team was the best in the country, but an early loss to Florida, and a mid-season loss to LSU put them out of the discussion. That was Manziel's first year on the field. 2013 lost a lot of talent around Manziel, and could not capitalize - most of those players that were drafted were skill guys and the trenches could not compete.

If I'm honest, I expect A&M to compete for it all in 2022. 2021 looks favorable if King is another generational QB. 2022 looks "good enough" if he's just very, very good.

Alabama has been loaded since 2009 in a pretty unique way. I think LSU has always been close but Saban has been insane with recruiting

Can't argue with that. Other teams have gotten close in different years but it's been Alabama and then a revolving door at 2-3 behind them. UGA may be ahead of LSU right now but it's insanely close. You could make an argument for both.

I'm ready for Saban to retire.

As a Bama fan I’m curious to see how Bama does post Saban. I’d say still top tier but nothing like this past decade. It’s dumb to say it will always be like it is right now but equally dumb to assume it will be like the probation period

It was weird seeing LSU do bad last season. I could see this season going really well for you guys or pretty bad. I guess we will see

LSU lost a record number of NFL level talent last year between the draft and opt outs. In 2021, LSU will return almost everyone. If Gilbert returns and starters don't opt out, then this will team will have similar talent to 2019. The poster that the talent returning went 5-5 is kind of dumb IMO. I don't think he even knows which players/positions are returning.

13 players drafted and 5 first rd picks?

Do you mean not close by "similar?"

No. I mean similar in talent. Obviously, not all of the talent will be draft eligible.

This next season for LSU will be very interesting. Imo it’s their biggest season in a while coming off last year. They will either prove that season was a fluke and return to the top tier or they will still show somewhat of a resemblance of last year and O will be on the hot seat

How many on defense? I'll answer that one for you, zero. The 2013 defense was one of the worst to ever suit up at A&M, gave up 38 ppg against P5 opponents.

One has to remember the LSU team last year was full of quitters, including some like Gilbert that opted out part of the way through the season. Talented, but completely undiisciplined

I quoted you a 2-year sample size, didn't I? 2012 was a big year and won Johnny a Heisman. You had 2 guys off your defense that was drafted that year. Damontre Moore was taken in the 3rd round. And LB Shaun Porter was taken in the 4th round.

You need to quit selling the talent short. It hasn't been the issue. Now Sumlin, we'll talk.

Well we all know about Gilbert. Chase didn't even bother to suit up - should get the B1G award. Judging by their play versus talent level you could secretly add most of the LSU upperclassmen. LSU was actually better with players like Stingley and Gilbert off the field.

He sure played like an opt out. He sucked - had mentally checked out. You will be lucky if he even deigns to play next year
